I cant believe how big the site is getting..
 

It just amazes me how big this site is getting, Last January was the record month at HMT with 1538 new topics 17930 new posts 289 new users and 125 users online at once...

This is like totally tripping me out, ya its cool were growing and what not, but at the same time I'm scared shitless that we are going to have to upgrade our connection to the internet.

If anyone knows anybody thats interested in advertising on HMT let me KNOW! we need to get them on here to pay for some of the costs to keep this site operational. Lately its been slow as ----, and I hate it!

You might think about having a lil "Donate to HMT" icon somewhere so peepz can donate and you can have a list of their names and the amount of donation as some of the del sol sites have...

Dunno... just a thought

Its scary with sites like this that start out on home PC's and home internet connections and grow to be a Major deal. It almost gets out of hand lol.

Jeff, Is HMT a hobby for you?

It seems like it would take a lot of time and effort to produce a website like this.

There must be a way for the people who "work" here (like yourself & the moderators) to make something from the effort.

I think that selling ad space, donations or having people purchase custom titles are not bad ideas.

Maybe have a raffle/drawing for turbo parts. Buy a "ticket" & you get a chance to win a prize.

But you should never charge for a membership.

No worries there will never be a "membership" type charge here, I guess once a year I will ask for donations, every little bit counts.

I think you guys should colaborate with honda-tech somehow.

not make so far as to integrate the two sites..

definetely hmt has a different feel from ht
and it would be sad to lose that

But honda-tech is huge, and alot of the people on their are like minded, and i'm sure alot of ppl here frequent h/t also.

maybe you guys can share banners or something?
like get advertisers from there to advertise here too, and visa versa?

I duno if it'd work, but just a thought.

Actually honda-tech is one of my favorite websites, there are some things I really dislike about it, but that comes with every site I guess.. they are way to ------- big, and could careless about a site like this. They charge like 50 bucks for a ad banner on that site. With 30-40 ads a month, I'm sure they are doing just fine.

I was just thinking the other day how I used to be able to recognize every member by their avatar :-\ The site really has grown a lot in the past year and I am more than willing to give a few bucks to Jeff. Last donation I didnt give anything(regretfully). This time I am more than willing to give back to the site.

I think HMT is a little bit more of a niche in the automotive world. Although Honda-Tech is just limited to Honda owners, it's a mucher broader segment. We're not just into our cars, we're all about forced induction and furthermore we're about doing it ourselves. I think that's why we're so tight, because we all have that in common.
Not to mention the fact that there is a General Discussion forum where you can BS about anything with other people of the same interest kicks ass too!!! (you won't find that on H-T)

One good thing about this site is the general knowledge and tolerance for something new.

I asked a question for a friend concerning his V6 Mustang last night (which, I agree, sucks balls.) If I would have asked on a Mustang forum, they would have said "Buy a GT". If I asked on Honda-Tech, even in a FI post, they would have said "Domestics sucks, buy a 99-00 Civic SI and put NAWZ on it, like everyone here, or your gay" Kinda reminds you of George Orwell's "1984", huh?

This is the best site on the internet concerning turbocharging, period. Jeff have answered several of my past questions, even though I bet hundreds of people asked him the same damn questions, probably at the same time. Jeff, I love you man (in a sheerly platonic, non-touchy-feely kinda way.) As soon as the fund open up, I'm gonna donate a crisp Benjamin VIA paypal. It pays to be flat rate :-)
