Yeah some electrical, but a lot of other odd things (IE: my passenger door wouldn't open from the outside, ignition barrell would spin multiple times before 'catching' when turning the key).

The drivetrain was fine except I had to change out the guibo (Flex Disc)... it attaches the tranny to the drive shaft. Basically, it's a piece of rubber with woven fibers that reduces driveline vibrations for smoother operation. After 130K+ the stock one was toast and was causing massive vibrations when accelerating. It took me about 2 hours or so.... you have to drop the exhaust & pull back the drive shaft. Just something to look for.

They still use those? I knew the old 2002's did, I figured that went the way of the stone age.

They still use them. 2003-present toureg, Q7, and Cayenne. Fail.

Yah, they were used in Mk2 and non-73 Mk3 GT6 as an outer u-joint affair, referred to affectionately as "roto-flex couplings."

the ones in this era of bmw will hold 150k of granny driving or ~100k of normal use. Withstand ~800+whp, only guys switching to solid ones/eliminating them are drag only near 1000whp tools with DSS setups that suck worse than stock.

i picked up a 95 M3 for $3500 2 years ago. it was a bank repo. i guess thats all that was owed on it.

anyway, as for reliability it has been awesome. it has almost 200k on it now and only has some minor issues. it needs a guibo and a few bushings and also some ball joints. i put a MAF on it and a cooolant bottle. thats about it so far. a supercharger is in the works, but thats after the civic puts some serious power to the wheels
