In this case though, it dosen't benefit us honda guys since rods give out at about the same point our ring lands do! I do know that alot of muscle car guys run Hypereutectic pistons in their muscle car's(namely the Keith Urban's).

Compression in my 5.0 is allegedly 9.2:1 with the piston/head combo I have. I never did a compression test on that motor. The 180 all around is in my high mileage 97 GT which has a 4.6L. There was some variation between cyl but it was between 179-185. that motor is 9:1. I have been testing it for years-nearly everytime I change plugs which is every 10K. It never changes.

mine has 150 exactly in every cylinder... the motor was "rebuilt" before i bought the car.
