The breaking method I would use would be cutting it. Or a bigger hammer. Your pic doesnt work either.

No Pic, but a Die Grinder with a cut off wheel, a 4.5" Grinder, or Air Hammer ALWAYS works.

Theres no pic!

however to break a weld. I would usually use a grinder.

Judging by the picture I would say you're fucked. You're better off starting all over with fresh material.

I have never met a weld that could handle the airhammer.

Re: how would i break this weld?

invest in a grinder or a torch...a dremel is basically useless on a car or anything not on a plastic model

don't know how thick the weld is but if you wanted to do it raw style you could crank your welder all the way up and burn through that bitch

I'd use a 4.5" angle grinder with a metal cutting disk.

Spend a couple bucks on a cheap ass Harbor Freight chop saw. That'll cut it! Probably not straight, but it'll cut it!

Re: how would i break this weld?

well since i am already broke as hell i will try the dremel. if it really wont work i have to take it somewhere cuz i dont have anyother tools. having no tools and being broke owns me.

if your talking about a spot weld, drill through it and then use a hammer and screwdriver to seperate.
