Thats where Im currently in school. Town isnt like it use to be thats for sure. Its pretty slow these days

did a year and a half at unlv in Business Finance



switched major and doing mechanical engineering which basically means I should be done with school since I can only take 1-2 class a semster by the time Im 40 since all my prior work doesnt count towards ----.

kinda droped out of junior college. took some welding courses last summer, i like welding for a hobby not a job. never planned on getting to serious in welding besides for myself(need money to buy a welder just like most people). and was going to take the automotive program out here. but ive never been in a room full of idiots like that before and the class was to ------- slow and i was not about to waste my life like that. ive thought about going back to a real college for a engineering degree but im not sure really. being a pilot would be cool to but would take way to long. i think ill stick to not going to college for awhile longer till i at least figure out what i would like to do or till i get tired of doing labor jobs.

Ya its well kinda lame now. The have a new ordinance they are passing that allows cops to stop any gathering of 5 people or more if they feel any law is being broken. Essentially making any get together it be family,friends or house party illegal cause when isnt something illegal going on at a parts. Oh well oh ya they also take cars here so I wouldnt bring it dowrn,my crx with a a b20 turbo setup most likely will never see a chico street . Chico pd over the summer impounded over 150 honda/compact cars for illegal mods they werent even racing. I was going to buy a house here but the new nazi local government/police has me rethinking. Once I make more money Im moving back out to the north bay area where I was born and raised. I do miss the old days here though I use to come up in my late teens in the late 90's

Ya We used to host Rush kickoff all the time at our house. Like 12-1300 people FUCKED UP The Back barn burned down a few years ago, sux.. I remember pioneer days, and you could actually have kegs out on the sidewalks and walk around with open containers and ----... IT WAS SWEET!!! Lots of kick ass roads up there to thrash on to, ALways used to go water skiing at limesaddle and blackk butte lake... 3 out of four weekends up in tahoe too (took a few semesters off to work at resorts up there) Sugar bowl, Boreal, Kirkwood...


Mom lives in Placerville, good times down there man, sux it has chnaged....

Possibly the stupidest thing I have read all day. yes think for your self and it will totaly compensate for college. let us know how that works out for you in about 10 years.

Kind of cool to see college grads on here. I hope to find a company to pay for a 4 year.


i always think its funny to see people say things like above and "---- the CC company. Im only paying the minimun payment every month so thats what they get" then they cant figure out why they owe like 15 grand due to interest on that providian card like 5 years later. if you pay 35 dollars a month off your loan then either
a) your loan is for 789 dollars or
b) you will pay off your loan possibly before you qualify for Social security. Possibly.

Probably didn't set his expectations that high for us regular HMT folks.

I have 2 years done and plan to get back this spring. No loans for me, straight up cash, which is why I haven't been in a while.

Going for double major in Computer Engineering and Electrical Engineering, with tons of classes in chemistry and psychology :) Hoping to be so balla on my own that they'll only serve as "backup plans" in case things go sour.

I know the cost of tuition has gone up considerably in the last five years (60% at my current institution), and I understand Bush has yanked a lot of federal college money out of the system, but I don't understand why people can't pay for this ---- out of their pocket? Student loans are only needed if you want to go to someplace prestigious (1% of students) or you want to go out of state where you don't have residency to get away from your parents (99% of students). People are just lazy, or clueless.

i went to university and got a bachelor's degree, then figured out i'd need to go to college to get a job. :-\ so i did my apprenticeship... wish i'd done it the other way around, then i could have went to uni for something to compliment my trade. :P

Maybe in the north east and other rich areas where they throw money into school from taxing rich people. I don't live on campus and I go to an unpopular state school with no football team, it's 10k a year after everything.

same. im in a poor as ---- state. congressman are too busy hunting and playing golf to figure out how to make our educational system better. im having to go to a "law" school here for engineering. toyota plant being built nearby gave a ---- ton of cash to this school to start an auto engineering program. with this being a law school everything is more expensive. not to mention the cost of living here is outragious. that + lack of jobs in a small town with a decent sized college = cash shortage for all but the rich

2nd year B-comm. It's easy to do without bills, just get a good job in the summer and a ---- one in the winter that'll let you work 2 days a week.
