How Power Steering Saved my Engine
So the other day I bought a power steering belt cause I just outta the blue felt like having it hooked back up.
Couple days later a strange noise started, and I couldnt figure out what it was. After a few days I decided that maybe my timing belt tensioner was bad or there was something in the timing cover. So to inspect I tore it all apart and found this hole in my timing belt, brand new belt too. http://images-space.no-ip.org/public/575/belt.jpg Driving after I changed it I realized that the noise was still there tho. At that point my friend Mike had mentioned that maybe it was the PS belt, so I decided to try just taking it off. Sure enough the PS belt was making the noise. Its a good thing I put that belt on though, if I hadn't I wouldnt have found that broken timing belt. Well, until it broke all the way at least, whew. |

Wow you got lucky, that's the first time I've seen a belt look like that. Better keep an eye on the new one.
