I don't really know anything about flywheels and I'm sure the guy at the machine shop will ask me how I want it done.
Am I supposed to give him any special instructions?
Just take off 5-6lb?

make sure they re-balance it after they take off the lbs.

There was a large thread about this a couple months ago. Basically some people have had good experiences, where as some say it weakens it and increases the risk of it grenading and ------ ---- up.

So basically, my question is, how much weight can we safely remove from the flywheel?
Is 12lb a good weight to shoot for?

dont lighten it at all, its fine stock. all your going to do is make your car harder to drive around.

5-6 lbs removed for a final weight of 12lbs.Get it rebalaced and you do so at your own risk it could blow into a million pieces and cause injury.
