In this rare case, you buy no rings at all and demand head.

Anyone who is wondering how much they should spend on a ring, a present, or anything can PM me pictures of their broads and I will determine the amount based on mad uncontrollable knowledgeabilities.

My chick doesnt want a ring either, but I dont feel right not getting a ring. I guess I'm "traditional". I dont know what I'm gona get her yet, but I want to get her something. But I dont have to worry about that ---- for a few years. I'm 19, and still have lots of years ahead of me. I've been with my girl for ~6years now and loving it still.
I dont plan to get her knocked up or get married any time soon. maybe 2 more years or so. at least till I get out of college.

I spent $2500 at www.diamond.com . It was a .78ct vs1, almost colorless. They come with IGA certificates, which I think is pretty important to get. (your lady will ask for it). Def. worth checking out. Good luck!

if your bitch is asking for certificates on the diamond, its pretty clear that all she cares about is material things and the actual symbolism the ring has doesnt mean ---- to her...

Haha yeah if she's asking for certificates the only one she's gonna get is the receipt after I return the ------- ring, ---- that. Not that I'll buy a crappy ring (and don't plan to for at least a few years) but like reactone said, if she's asking for certificates it's obvious what she's looking for.

Spend what you think is right and if she doesn't like it, then forget it. I'm not saying be cheap, but a month or two of income should be PLENTY.

cspec - not trying to talk ---- man, but I've never seen a 17yr old that knows what she wants. Hell, one of my exs is 23 now and she FINALLY grew the hell up a few months ago. I dated a 17yr that was intelligent (in school) but is a crazy bitch that just thinks she knows what she wants. Oh, she also "really wanted a kid." That scared me from her right there. They don't know what the hell they want, unless you got some very very very unique case.

for some reason my ex sent me the link to this thread. i have no clue why he wanted me to read it and he didn't even post a reply, ??? whatever.

Anyways, here's my opinion as a female.

First, figure out what kind of ring she'll actually wear. I know when my brother was in the market for an engagement ring, his girlfriend wanetd a massive diamond and a big beautiful band and so on.

I, on the other hand, am a much simpler person. I'd rather have a ring that was more embedded in the band and doesn't even have to be some massive diamond. I like the idea of the three-diamond rings, the ones that are supposed to be "for the past, the present, and the future" One, it's not just one lonely diamond, and it still doesn't have to be some big honkin thing.

I'd like to be able to wear the damn thing and not have it get caught every time i put my hand in my pocket or anything else.

Also figure out if she wears silver or gold. I'd be so pissed if I got a gold ring because everything else i wear is silver.

I'd say my ex pretty much hit the spot when he bought me a ring for christmas a couple years ago (even though it wasnt a promise or engagement ring). And he only spent about $120 on it.

This isn't a very good picture of it, but it's all i have because I wasn't a greedy bitch and gave it back to him for his disposal (be it a trashcan or resale) when we broke up.
