Google accelerator just acts as a proxy to google servers (since they keep a cache of pages while searching the web), and so it only works to increase the speed of loading webpages since you're loading from google's superfast servers instead of the server the pages reside on.

1. Download utorrent
2. Go to site (piratebay.org, btjunkie.org, etc) and search for file
3. Open the torrent and it starts downloading

There are ways you can optimize the speed, like port forwarding. Just read all the links, I promise you can figure it out quicker if you'd just do some research instead of waiting for answers.

no i said google download accelerator to find dap (download accelerator plus) it has nothing to do with google, ------- nog

Ok? Either way you're still wrong, f'ing tool. A download accelerator works by opening multiple connections to servers or their mirrors, since they usually cap an individual's download rate so they can offer decent speeds to everyone without one person sucking up the bandwidth. It'll work when downloading from webservers but not from limewire which was asked about in the original question...

Now, tell me how this is going to work on a p2p network? Oh wait, it won't :1 Limewire/bittorrent/napster/youreatool download speeds all depend on how fast the people can upload. Unless your program can automagically double everyone's upstream bandwidth (which it can't), it's not going to increase limewire speeds.

You picked a very good screenname for yourself...

And all I said was you are wrong and it won't work. I prefer to let someone know they are wasting their time listening to misinformation.

I can't help it you were wrong and got butthurt.

Oh, and to the OP, there's software and tutorials on hacking the modem's bootfile to change the down/up speeds. Just be wary that some companies can detect it, even though all they'll do is send a warning or disconnect you. I'd look up your specific ISP.

You obviously have no idea how the interweb works.

Don't do that ---- if you have Comcast. They will show up at your door wanting to inspect your modem. :l Can get away with it if you didn't get the modem from them. Just tell them you bought it off eBay and they will make you change it. After about a week uploading all day everyday as fast as I could they capped my upload speed lmao. Now it will only do around 45-50 kbs.

Yeah :P Is that why your speeds were ridiculous when you did the speed test a while back? DOCSIS 3.0 is getting rolled out soon, and speeds will be jumping again. Uploads *should* go up to around 1mbps for standard level, and 2mbps for higher. Supposed to roll it out in 2009 sometime.

As far as I know, the hack will only work on motorola surfboard modems? I could be wrong though, I've never tried to edit it. Something about, surfboard modems had a flaw the engineers left in where you could hook it to your computer with ethernet, and make it download a bootfile from your comp instead of the servers.

Since the speeds are just a simple value in the config file, I'm surprised nobody has made a hack to just edit the value AFTER the modem has booted up, so it doesn't fail the checksum like if you used a hacked bootfile when starting up.

ALL cable companies will detect that ---- instantly if you uncap your download or upload speed.
