weell i install the upsrung in my accord and wow that ---- grabs hard. really tough on stop and go traffic. but ---- its sexy when shifting fast. cant wait to see how it handles the boost

LSD Motorsports 12-14-2004 01:57 AM

Re:How do you like the Clutch

So hows it handling under boost rene? And spenser the clutches will last on average about 2 years daily driven under boost.(possibly longer) If its just a weekend or toy car, the clutch will outlast the motor and everything else on that car

probably my friend, hes got 40k on his now

Spenser 12-14-2004 02:57 PM

Re:How do you like the Clutch

yea, the clutch is ------- great, squaks the tires in 5th, and I did the craziest burn off yesterday through this big intersection, just draggin the wheels in third gear, so much smoke nobody could see, they all just stayed put till the light turned red. Yea, the material on the disk is some kind of metalic ----, so I guess it will porlby last alot longer then the stock gay ----.

I bought my clutch last year around this time....I got about 15K-17K miles on it...about 7K miles of it was boosted....with some 15 psi love :-* .
Clutch is stil running strong and I checked it between engine swaps....disk looks like it has just been run for a few weeks.

i've got 2000 miles on mine now, boosting 12-13 psi. holding up great! even broke 2 of the lug studs off on the launch @ Lapeer Dragway. 14.6 @ 100mph, letting tires loose @ 75 mph in 3rd @ 4000 rpm.(traction ownz me)
but, i'll buy another when it dies.

6 puck sprung, on a built mini me fed thru a 14b

thanks again for the hook-up!

Re:How do you like the Clutch

i like mine, even though i orderd a sprung one and got a unsprung one, i dont mind. in the break in period it was really chattery, and now with 2k on it, its a lot better, i doubt this thing will slip. for the price its a good buy

89dxhunchback 12-16-2004 02:39 PM

Re:How do you like the Clutch

I got the 6-puck sprung version or $260 and it kicks ass. It is a little touchy ( on/off kinda deal ), but I couldn't detect ANY increse in clutch pedal effert.

And just as important as it working great, EVERYTHING fit great. T.O. bear, P. plate, and disk. It all fit perfect !! A friend of mine ordered a clutchmasters duel friction from summit racing and had to send it back twice before they got the right one, once he got the 3rd clutch, it FIMALLY fit.

Shipping was good. I ordered on Thusday, he recieved the order Friday, the clutch shipped Monday, I got it Friday, and I installed it yesturday. Smoothest engine pull/install I've I've ever done ( didn't even break the TPS ).

Its held 11psi on "closed exhuast" so far, but I haven't had a chance to run it with the 3'' dump. From the way the dash feels like its going to fall on to my lap when I shift, I doubt it'll EVER slip...

One bad ass clutch, for a REALLY great price.

Thanx 88 turbo crx !!

Spenser 12-16-2004 05:20 PM

Re:How do you like the Clutch

hahaha, yeah man, my dash feels like its gona break off the mounts when i shift. I would just like to add that mike shipped me the wrong throw out bearing, but other then that shipping was perfect.

Looks like I am roasting the ACT HDSS, so a clutch specialties might be in order. D-series still run $260? Guess I could look in the classifieds.

Re: How do you like the Clutch

I can vouch for his shipping methods and speed. I ordered several rotors and some brake pads from him, came in a timely manner but one set of brake rotors didn't fit. No problem though, as he agreed to reimburse me.

Good guy, very professional. Buy from him.

Bought mine a while back. Got a 6 puck sprung disc for my b16 tranny. Transaction with Mike was great and disc was pretty much up to par with the competitors. Grabs extremely well and puts the boosted power to the ground! ;D

i really noticed a difference after i dumped the clutch a couple of times. Most say that ceramic puck type don't really need a break in time, but i think i babied mine for 200 miles or so... 2-3 days worth of driving for me.

oh yeah... i'm still driving on my CS unsprung, still grabs like first week i installed it!

MIKE,
is there a huge price difference for dual diaphram for D series?

Just installed a stage 2 clutch i bought from 88 Turbo Crx. Clutch works great! Clutch swapping is a bitch and my hands are cut up as hell. Still rough on the luanches with the new clutch.

Re: How do you like the Clutch

Bought a 6 puck unsprung from mike just got it installed yesterday. Notice that on 1st and 2nd that it chatters alott all in all the clutch holds like a mofo. I was just wondering how long would it take for the chattering to go away? or how long is the breaking period?

LSD Motorsports 06-12-2005 10:55 PM

Re: How do you like the Clutch

A good 3 hrs of street driving or about 300 miles of easy driving will do the trick. The chattering takes a month or two to ease down. Depends on driving style also.

BoosTedZSix 06-12-2005 11:13 PM

Re: How do you like the Clutch

i just did a fatty burnout to break mine in. never had a problem with it. if you release the clutch at the right time it wont chatter. i usually give it a little rev and as the rpms drop ill let go of the clutch. no chatter yO! but if you ride it it'll chatter like a moFO ;)

What's the difference with the dual diaphragm..bla bla
Does CS also have twin disks?? ;D

LSD Motorsports 06-14-2005 11:17 AM

Re: How do you like the Clutch

We offer everything. The Dual diaphram is a pressure plate we use for extreme race sets ups. We have single diaphram kits that will hold 550hp to give you an idea of what an "extreme race sets ups" are. We do have twin disks, i dont stock those, but i can have one custom made, just need to know the application.
Thanks Semnos
