I agree getting an education has helped me pretty much in every part of my life...I started a job about two months ago and Ive already went from being just a sales man to being in managment.
I know if I hadn't gone to school I wouldn't be able to do the things that are moving me forward.

Honestly I haven't got my raise yet so I don't know for sure. The owner is really fair though so I think it's going to be pretty good..I work at a you pull yard my job is to write up all the cars we buy and decide what engines and things we pull and put on the shelf in the warehouse and what we send into the yard, I handle our online everdrive sales and I manage the inventory in the warehouse I make sure everything is where it's supposed to be.

It's the funnest job Ive ever had hands down and the people are cool.
The guy that has my job at our other location is a baller so I'm sure I'll be alright. And if they don't pay well :1 It'll be back to construction pouring concrete for $23 an hour and a wasted student loan payment for nothing.

Do you think you'll be making more than $23/hour? If it's really the funnest job you've ever had, than more power to you. I would take a major pay cut to work a job I TRUELY didn't mind getting up everyday for.

I'm not sure what it will be to be. if I can get somewhere close to that then I'll be happy...But I feel the same as you I'm staying where I am unless something drastic happens...My knees kill me from finshing concrete since I was sixteen and going back to that would be the very last option....

I may even take up flipping burgers and pulling weeds at the golf coarse. :6 sweet success!! oh yeah.

I'm not in a liberal arts curriculum, Doc. Starting wage is in the 50-60K range depending on how keen I am about relocation.

Also, I'm a full time college student with two part time jobs, one of which I schedule myself at only when I feel like working, in a city with a high cost of living vs low average wage. I've got over a grand in my back pocket, Doc, and last I checked you were financed out to the point your bills ate up every dime you made. I have the ability to drop everything at a moments notice and do what the ---- I want, whereas you're trapped swinging hammers. As for your future... many guys on the construction site over 50? Keep talking...

Exactly In the laborers union I was in you have to work 30 years to retire. Not many guys that can make it that long. The really sweet thing they had setup was a points system based on hours worked during a year so you could earn 1 point towards retirement. if you fell short on hours one year if things were slow you'd have to work two years to earn a year....so it could work out to sixty years of hard labor. SOunds like a great life.
