how to become a american ??
 

well i have a friend that lives in halifax canada and she wants to move to the states and live here, what does she have to do to become legal, she is in college up there and just finishing her last year of basicis at a cc college so i was wondering if she could just get a student visa and transfer to a cc here?? whats the low down ?

well where do we need to go to get the paper work ??? can we just go to the college here and they will tell us what we need to do ?

get married to hotrex! he is American then she would become a legal resident and be able to apply for naturalization. simple as that.

My wife is from mexico, lived here since she was 13, and still does not even have residency status. Americas immigration sysytem sucks.

If going to school (you must be full time to apply) you will need to enter on a F1 Status Visa, or FVISA

Here are the forms she will need once in the US:

Once in the United States, she will most likely want to file form I-485 as soon as possible,(Application To Register Permanent Residence or Adjust Status) (they just raised the cost to $1,010)...

I became a Us citizen by joining the Army ( 9 years strong still serving 11 to go before I consider retiring) so tell her after she become a legal resident she can join up we are recruiting now at $20,000 accross the board if she sign up by september 30 ;D
