how do i attach file to my posts did it once a while ago anf forgot how i did it

tried that i wouldnt have asked how to do it if i didnt try what i usually do to attch files

what i don`t get is , after i attach the file, all i can do is to post the link of the file without it actually showing in the post.
is there anyway to make it show?

that im not sure. i think they attach the file, post, then modify with a hotlink to the attached file
