Houston, we have boost

Yep, the hatch is boosted. I've been racing around the neighborhood all night. ;D The new motor runs ------- awesome. I didn't have a throttle body gasket so it's kinda weird on the takeoff, but it hauls ass. I'm guessing I'm running around 15psi? I dunno.....that's not important. :-X Normally I hate the loss of traction, but it feels pretty damn good right now. I've missed boost. :'(

I had a pretty nasty valve cover leak so oil spilled all over my nice and clean motor. Piece of ----....

Here are the pics:

My new toys. :D

The stock clutch sure doesn't hold up to well. If I try to jam it into second at WOT it just completely slips and I don't go anywhere. :-[ No BOV, no tuning, no worries. :P

I've got alot of mickey mouse ---- going on under the hood, but that can all be worked out later. It's running and that's all I care about. :)

Looks like the Doctor's been operating.

Nice stuff.

Oh and for the throttle body, Ive never used a gasket, always just a thin bead of silicone, never had problems.

Good to see it's finally running. How's the neighbours like the open dp? :P

Shiat, I was boosted before you were even a member here. :P

The new toys are SRP and Crower rods, bought from ghettoturbo. :D

The motor, as of right now is 100% stock. Yes 15psi is a little too much for it, but I'm making up for the past year of not being boosted. :P

Timing covers are for pussies. I modifed it so the timing mark is still there, but nothing else. I ran my last Honda for 4 years with no timing cover and never had any problems. :-\

15 psi stock block....not too sure if you're going to be boosted for long ;). Good thing you got some new goodies ready to go in.

Re:Houston, we have boost

I have a list of "sponsors" for this motor. I think I bought just about every part on this site.

Oil lines- Stealthmode of course. :-*
Intercooler- Custom coach :)
Head- Onyx
Head bolts- mahcivic
Intake manifold- Hotsex (see sig)
Shortblock- I forget his name, but he doesn't post here anymore. :-\
Turbo- Egay
Manifold- Egay (no I didn't pay for that pile of ----)
Distributor- Hotsex
Radiator-Ghetto-D
couplers- Stealthmode(some of them)

I'm sure there is more, but I can't think right now. I'm tired and ready for bed.

Nah, this isn't a daily driver anyways. I'll be lucky if I can take it out and beat on it once a week. I kinda wished I would have waited to put the new pistons and rods in, but I need other goodies before I tear it out again. I'm going for it. 8)

Watch out for a "Motor For Sale" post coming soon. :P

I ran my stock D15 at 14psi untuned with an AFC and a blown head gasket daily for months and it lasted. I don't know how you guys blow so many motors. :P

No W/E, I only gave him 37 couplers. I count 79 on there, so he must have found a backup source.

Did you give your welder the year off? :D

That would be a jet-ski. Down here in AZ we have lakes that are warm enough to swim in. :P

So, it's an A6 with what turbo and what fuel management? What happened to that turbo cammed head I sold back to you?

It's a Z6 block with an A6 head. I'm using an AFC along with TurboEdit. The turbo is a Tbird T3 .48/.60.

I didn't think I was going to end up switching back to a SOHC so I sold that head. :( I really wish I didn't. :-\ That's the second time I've sold it and I regret it both times. If it comes back to me again I'm going to bronze it and make a statue out of it. ;)

Co-sponsored by SSautocrap!!! lol Just messing with yeah doc! Nice setup btw and buzzin' yet with that open dp? Ears or you head?

Dr.Boost 11-13-2004 03:35 PM

Re:Houston, we have boost

Well, compression results are 135 all the way across. I know that sounds low, but with the A6 head it drops the CR a bit. At least it's an even -135-. ;D

It's now running 100% on TurboEdit. Aside from this strange occasional 2500rpm idle, it runs good. I can't use the launch control because my speedo is broken. :-\
