hotrex scores a new car...

well i just picked up a 91 std hatch for 400 bucks. car is really clean.

im swapping over everything from the gsr into the hatch. im gonna put the hatch into the 10s. im pumped to get going on this

hatch is way less to insure, its lower profile, and ill sell the gsr with a n/a ls/vtec in it for 5k. damn i lucky

Re: hotrex scores a new car...

Sweet. You're gonna miss the luxury feel of the GSR but at least you aren't driving a heavy pig anymore.

Re: hotrex scores a new car...

10's will be easy as you SIT. i'd be shooting for mids with those mods

I still want to see this beast.

And I think you should do a fatty burnout before the swap.

Did you actually talk to your insurance company yet? When I switched from my 90 Civic STD to my 96 Mustang GT my insurance actually went from $580 a year to $515. My V8 acutally saved my $65 a year on insurance becuase it was fully loaded with ABS and airbags and an alarm ect. Wouldn't it be funny if your insurance went up switching to a slower car? :S

i dont think so. after the built head and what not. bigger slicks. then we're talking. but i would rather rock the integra than an std

I'm saying: With that same b16 motor in the hatch, as he sat on track day, with those tiny slicks, the car WILL go 10's. Its not really a question of will, but how deep

10's is big flight of faith. Maybe 11.60's

RedCavz 03-02-2006 04:39 PM

Re: hotrex scores a new car...

I dont know guys. That thing trapped 122mph with room for about another 3mph. I'd be willing to put a few bucks down whitey

:y with that current setup with same slicks. 11.6 maybe even the same time with a higher trap. lighter car = more power to weight= less traction

but hatch is definitely the way to go, i got a 89 std hatch for 550 really nice condition too. yea that power to weight ratio might actually hurt him, especially not being an experienced track driver, not that i am either. maybe you should drop down that boost and see if you do any better, i think it could actually help you out alot. i saw that happen on pinks(yeah i know the show kinda sucks) but they pulled off the second nitrous bottle and got a better time and 60'. although, that was like a 1800 hp camaro, but ya know

hotrex 03-02-2006 05:20 PM

Re: hotrex scores a new car...

the hatch with the same setup would probably be bettrr for 3 to 4 tenths.

i would not go 10s on those tiny slicks. i couldnt launch hard enough

Shorter wheelbase tho :-/ .... Are you going to go with a hydro tranny conversion? that would be the best bet!

Re: hotrex scores a new car...

Nice to hear!!

I drive a 90 STD. Light as ---- y0!

Slammed with front and rear sway bars makes it feel like a go-kart.

It's going to be a night and day difference in acceleration, handling, everything from the GSR. You are going to need to swap the brakes of course, but that's cheap and easy.

Let's see some pics of this soon-to-be beast!

In Ireland insurance goes mainly by engine size (how gay is that) so a 400hp 2.0 turbo will probably cost less to insure than a slow ass sub-200hp 3.0L :)
