WELL WELL WELL after about 6 months of "taking a break" from turbo hondas, i got that damn itch again. i started stumbling on sick deals, and i had some loot and went for it. since the deals were so good. i decided to shoot for 400whp on a 1500 dollar setup inlcuding the built motor and turbo kit. so far i am way below budget.

here she is, the filled b16a block. just got done pouring it.
the goods needed to fill your block, total cost, 40 dollars. ( i get the devcon for a sick discount through work)

motor on stand, leveled to perfection, cleaned, sanded and ready for salt.

and last but not least, just about a full pound of devcon later, the finished product. tomorrow i will update with the coolant holes drilled and the salt flushed.

are you making a blockguard / closed deck? I havent seen anything like that, except from that guy on darksol.com a few years back that pured concrete(ms) into his block and said he was going to run methonol(ms). I never found out what happened to him.

are you gonna run with that setup daily?

this will be my weekend/track ripper.

this car is no longer my daily driver, with coolant holes drilled, it will not overheat, but i will be running 20-25 psi on her.

i hit it with brake clean, roughed up the sleeve and jacket with 80 grit sand paper,

brake cleaned it again, salted the block, mixed the devcon , then filled it.

moroso isnt even designed for aluminum, its meant for cast iron. so theres your answer righ ther.e

Yeah a local Friend had the Moroso stuff In a street car and you could see chunks of that stuff floating around with the rad cap off, but Beaus car held up fine :-\

well apparently it works pretty damn well. i mean beau did run 32 psi on a block just like this, with nasty timing advance, so i would say it will take 20-25 psi from a smalle turbo all day long.

For all the people saying they're going to do this, it's not exactly a "street car" mod. You might have overheating issues if you do this to your daily driver.

Def some to consider.Has anyone tested this in warm climates?Where I live overheating is not a issue do to the climate but I imiagine in Arizona,Florida etc you could have some issues.My rad fan in a NA setup turned on a few times a year, I was even sure if it worked till one day it got hot enough to come on. :D

fyi, crx304 who wrote the write-up in hybrid/tech has been beating on his in all sorts of weather and does not have overheating issues.

its all about doing it right, like hotrex said.

no, stefan has stock sleeves if i remember correctly, no filler.

I guarentee if I tried that I'd have an overheating problem in about.......oh...say 5 minutes. :P We're still hitting close to 100 degrees in the daytime.
