For some reason i got a kick out of having a car that looked like that, with the unpainted body kit (yes everyone, that WAS on purpose), and yet still have it go to the track and do what it could do... made me feel all warm and fuzzy inside.. hehe.

But alas.... i'm now building a truck that'll take the place of my poor CRX... can you say daily driven 500whp+ Toyota Tacoma that only weighs about 250lbs more than my CRX did? :) Widebody rear and all... Yea, its almost out of the body shop (finally). Then its on to making it look right (wheels/lowering/graphics/tint/stereo), and then the motor and goodies get swapped in that i have sitting here....and then when i really want to go fast, i'll have my race car :o

Holt crap, i remember when that car was first done, lol, bumble bee tuna. Yeah, ive got a major build in teh works, but im still keeping my car interior and exterior as stock and clean as possible. And this isnt the same one i used to have...

PMP: Yea, i'm on AIM on occasion... maybe like 5 minutes a week just to shoot a random message to someone.. lol. As for the 2J into my 4Runner, you have no idea how close i came to doing it... hehe. I had the motor sourced and was practically leaving the shop to go pick it up... However, i got smart, and just did an OEM rebuild on that truck.. i still have it though. I decided to do something with my pickup truck instead... here's a little peak for ya... haha!

Of note is the 345/35-19 tire, and the mucho-wider fenders in the rear... hehe.

Danny: Hey, whats up mang! Yea, i've seen some pics of your car here and there... it really looks very nice! Have you had her at the track yet (or are you even planning to)?

If you're so 'hardcore' about function over form, why are you even running a hood, or fenders, or carpet, or bumper COVERS... cause the bumper is under the covers, they are just there for looks....

Isn't it illegal to drive a vehicle without a hood or fenders? Going back to johns statement. I think the cops around here would think that the cover is the actual bumper and give you crap for that too. I don't know, just a thought.

I think we can all agree that i wasn't being very literal, but if you wanted to be, i know a guy that did exactly that... rode without the extra bodywork, and only got messed with a couple of times by the cops, but once shown that the bumpers existed, and that all lights functioned as stock, they let him go each time.

But anyway... I really don't care, but everyone always bags on ---- that looks nice, mostly because they can't afford it themselves... i can understand where they are coming from, but c'mon, who doesn't want their car to look nice... its like the worst cop-out in the world... What, ya gonna go try to pick up your new date in some rusted up broken down pos with no a/c just cause you believe that if it doesn't make more power, or make you faster, then you don't want it on your car???. try explaining that to her when you're walking to the car, and she doesn't get in when it is 100deg outside... lol..

And another thing, these are -street cars-... wouldnt you want to listen to the radio, or have a/c, or some kind of creature comfort? Ya know, it isn't impossible to have a nice ride and have it still be fast... i saw a brand new Porsche and a Mercedes line up at the track at a test-n-tune in Phoenix during testing for the NDRA opener race, and they both went 11's... with a/c, leather, quality sound systems, etc... i'm sure they weren't stock, but they certainly weren't tearing out their leather to try to go faster... lol! I'd take a car like that any day over one of these 'function over form' cars... besides, thats what my race car is for.. so i can have a nice street car (or truck in this case... lol).

Thanks man... i can't wait to see it done either... it's been over at the body shop for almost 6 months now. LoL. The body guy defiantely knows what he is doing, and this has been something that i told him to work on when he had time, and that i wasn't in a hurry... but at this point, i just want it back... i didn't think it was going to take this long to get done.. hehe.
