Thats how magazines work. IE: a mag put out on newsstands in Dec 2001 will be a Feb 2002 issue.

Crazy ass magazines.

Re:homemadeturbo is in sport compact car

Awesome that we are getting known out there... the bad part is that now we are going to have 15 yr olds commin on here wanting to turbo their parents car. They of course wont read the FAQ and will blunder us with useless questions.

Untimetly all of the good knowledgeable ppl will leave and we will be left with retards ;D

Re:homemadeturbo is in sport compact car

Wait wait wait, Does the magazine rag on HMT, just mention it in an article, or actually go into somewhat detail of what HMT is?

$10 says there'll be alot of new users after September asking where they can get a HMT kit for soandso car ::)

fiero_god 07-20-2003 04:33 PM

Re:homemadeturbo is in sport compact car

This could be taken in 2 ways. We could actually meet some cool new people who actually want to turbo there car without all the gay ass kits ,graphics and bling bling. Second jeff will be will busy banning new people lol

Re:homemadeturbo is in sport compact car

Jeff, you guys should really think about putting a disclaimer so you dont continue to get these ------- retards that ---- on you and HMT for ther incompetence and total lack of common sence!
You also dont want some 16 year old ---- building a kit with info off this site and killing himself or someone else on the road and have people or the media blaming HMT for its info.
Just a sugestion since HMT's existance will soon enough no longer travel primarrily by word of mouth.

HMT-Admin 07-21-2003 09:33 AM

Re:homemadeturbo is in sport compact car

disclaimer?

Nah, 16 year old kids slapping on turbokits on there civics is a great idea! even if they do blow it up. Nowhere in my site is there a step by step or How to build your own kit. Just pages of different HMT setups, and a forum.

I'm not to worried about it.

Jeff

Re:homemadeturbo is in sport compact car

why so much hate for the 16 year olds with civics?

I'm 16, I have a civic. when I turbo it (I won't be 16 anymore, but you get the idea) it will be done right, and it won't blow immediately.

d16forlife 07-21-2003 07:41 PM

Re:homemadeturbo is in sport compact car

No hate intended it just seems that sometimes at that age in some people there is a lack of commen sense.I've seen news covverage of too manny teens hurting themeselves and other people on the road lately.

Dr.Boost 07-21-2003 07:48 PM

Re:homemadeturbo is in sport compact car

I'm not going to lie. I was the dumbest 16 year old around. I wrecked my first car so many times I had to give it away. :'( I blew the motor in my second car while doing a 300 yard burnout, almost rolled my third truck several times and crashed quite a few others including my current vehicle. I have learned to drive smarter now, but when I was younger I fit the profile of your typical 16 year old punk that gives all the other 16 year olds a bad name. For that I am sorry. When MOST people are that young with little to no driving experience they tend to think they can outdrive any body and any car on the road. Alcohol also has a huge part in this. One of my more major accidents was caused by drinking and driving/racing. You can learn a lot from a dummy. :-[

Haha when i was 16 i was on a bike , my dad didin't trust me in a car. I had to learn how to drive ,if i made a mistake i usually crashed and got fucked up lol ,i spent most of my life being 16 trying to stal alive lol.

remember that there are no flashy pictures around the site in the magazine so a lot of people will skip right over that section....only the truly insane people (like me) read these magazines cover to cover and try to absorb everything!

Re:homemadeturbo is in sport compact car

here's the actical for all the cheap people ""Hey there,SCC.This is Brett Simmons, and i just wanted to let you all know about one of the besr sites on the web. Homemadeturbo.com is one of the most informative how-to sites. There are bunch of turbo installsshown in the turbo projects section, all with how everything was made to work very well with minimal dollars.Look though the tech projects section and they show how to do everything from building an LS/VTEC to relocating your battery. The greatest part is the forums.there are specific forms for all your turbo needs, from buying the parts toswapping the mottor, to fuel management. and, by the way there is a online chat room, too, which is great to just shoot the ---- or ask serious questions.
"The site is run by Jeff Frank and his friend Beau, who do a great job with it.Also, all these homemade projects work too. Jeff's daily-driven crx is in the low 13s and his racecar is in the 12s. Beau's crx is in the 13s now, but it will be in 11s as soon as the new turbo it is done.I wanted to let you guys in on a great site that has more than 1,000 members and is growing VERY quickly. It's a great place for people to go to make theircars real fast on a budget."
We'd add something to that, but why?"

Jeff's going to be pissed about you saying his daily driver is in the low 13's. That fucker is almost running 11's. :o and the site has over 2000 members now.

Good job on praising HMT in a major magazine. :)
