I was thinking about using an SC12 to boost my 4afe. It's a good supercharger, but only for about 10 psi. It still would have been badass. Might have to do it some day.

not true, i've boosted 18 psi max on my sc12. and when you do...thing whines like crazy.

The one on Ebay was the first AKSC that Tim designed. I'm working on the 5th generation design. The first 4 designs had a mojor flaw, the bolts that held the bracket to the AC mount would break. Mine will require a custom header.

FYI highroller54, 10 psi of boost is still 10 psi of boost. Able to be intercooled using a normal FMIC. You lose about 10% effeiciency spinning it backwards though.

you could just make some unit to spin it the correct way. out of some old cam gears and come crank pullys

Powerdyne tried it, came up with 10-15% loss and major belt slippage due to the belt setup.

All Vortech needs to do, build a reverse setup and be done. To hell with the gokart shaft which Vortech "stole" from a SOHC setup a LONG time ago.

Oh yeah, were only at 11k blower rpm, not even close to the 14k safe rpm or 16k rpm critical rpm.

46 mpg or 10 psi of boost, just a flick of the switch away!

Bone,
Someone posted pics of a homemade SC setup with a magnetic clutch over on the Endyne boards a while back(when they were still all yellow). Was that the AKSC?

Do you have a link? I'm curious as to how it was put together.
