HMT style Grand National vid+pic

One of my online buddies posted a vid of one of his friends cars. DAYUM!!! Says he used to street race all time until it got out of hand. Now it is a stricktly strip car pushing 1200hp and just ran a 7.90 at Sears point last week. The dyno vid http://www.fasttrackperformance.com/.../ChrisTTGN.wmv

This beast was smokin the tires on the dyno lol. And heres under the hood.

Re:HMT style Grand National vid+pic

not hmt....meaning in the sense of some of the homemade cheap crud i see on here, if he was using a damn radiator hose for ------- charge pipes then call it homemade, thats some nice ----, as for the fenders with the exhaust coming out the side thats just gay, and i understand the purpose for them sticking out of the hood, but still doesnt make it any less gay either

you see this is homemade....

http://img35.exs.cx/img35/2868/p7fdsc00592.jpg

and this is not....

Re:HMT style Grand National vid+pic

hey, I"m not the faggot calling someone gay cause they cut holes in their fender to route the exhaust on their 1200hp GN. Sit the ---- down, you ------- moron.

And yes, it is a HMT style kit, because he modded the car to accept the turbos, not the other way around. :P

well maybe your speaking for your self ---- nut!But my setup looked nothing like Kyles.Plus you pick the worst ------- example(sorry kyle) you can find on a home made setup. There are plenty of people here that have built setups that surpass the quality of "KITS".Just because the guy put time and obviousely money into it doesnt meen that he didnt build it out of his garage.Your a ------- clown.why am I even wasting my ------- time ::)

http://www.jspek.com/upload/img/turbo.jpg

theres a ------- difference between the home made ---- we make and something like this, not that it takes a "professional" to build this, but the majority of what hmt is about is pirating parts from other cars and making that ---- work, he didnt pirate ---- from anything else, the guy cut a couple holes in the hood/fender and stuck a couple snails in there, which dont get me wrong its badass, its just not home made in the sense that our ---- is homemade

HMT doesn't mean its ghetto, it just means its all DIY. ::) Not all setups are ghetto are on this site but they're all homemade. Jeff would call all the setups he has ever done as HMT and his girlfriend's HMT kit even made it into a magazine

Homemade turbo is about the application of a turbocharger to a vehicle, wether its a full out race car, or kyles piece of ----(Im sorry kyle, you're a discrase) not how pretty it looks. It's a HMT setup all the way.

Exactly. That race set-up you just showed us is HMT. So is that GN. HMT can best be defined as a negative. "It is not a kit or a stock set-up".

and D16, I am not gonna bust out my super secret dealers catalogue just to prove a point. ;)

There's different quality but everything is homemade. Same with everything else, some are quality and some aren't but they're all DIY

Re:HMT style Grand National vid+pic

im not saying everybodies setup is ghetto, ive seen some nice ---- on here, and my junk was far from ghetto, but my only argument is imo its not homemade in the sense that our stuff is homemade, this guy didnt go to the ------- junkyard and snatch a couple t-bird turbos, a volvo oil cooler, then come home and weld a couple sidemounts together and call it a day, this is some race quality ----, which is not what i would call home made, you wanna call it home made call it what ever the ---- you want to, thats my opinion

thats a pro. built car you ------- retartd.there is no comparisen between that and the GN.WOW!Your ------- smart arnt you?Of course there is a big diference between a pro drag car and what we build. There is no way to compare the 2.and its not even about the GN any more. Its about you trying to compare what we build to pro bilt setups ::)

hybrdcivic95 12-08-2004 08:56 AM

Re:HMT style Grand National vid+pic

whats the damn difference, theyre both "hand made" both using earls fittings and braided lines, both making big power, both using monster ass turbos, i dont see a difference, other than the front of that honda is probably cut the ---- apart and cant be daily driven

robs99si 12-08-2004 09:10 AM

Re:HMT style Grand National vid+pic

that grand national would look better if the turbos where completely under the hood.

Re:HMT style Grand National vid+pic

all in all it is still fucken home fucken made. that ---- is not pre-fabbed for goodness sake. if someone had to make it and piece it together it is homemade. no company put that ---- together for him or us. we go out and find parts. they do to. they have to peice ---- together rather than buying it in a full kit. to me piecing something together is homemade. okay maybe their "garage" made. but ---- its the same fucken thing. im sure if a lot of us had a butt load of cash. we would be rockin some nicer looking parts. and it would still be homemade bitch 8)

edit: man that shits old as ----. major repost

just fucken chill damn. if its not homemade then what is it? i dont see a drag or greddy on it. so what is it then? comeon now he made that thing himself not some big ol company that pumps out turbo kits.

You compared a nice kit to a shitty kit (No offense Kyle). ::) Kyle's kit doesn't represent every setup on this site
