HMT meet this Friday @ Cecil County ::UPDATE WITH VIDS::

Who wants to go? I'm going to be at Cecil this Friday. I don't know if I'm bringing my Mustang but I'll definitely be there if the weather is nice helping my friend with his Banshee. If I can get mine done this week I'll be running the turbo Banshee, its a long shot but I'll try and get it done. Anyone else wanna go? Gates open at 5:00

Till what time does it last?
And how far from here is it?
The page says gates open at 5pm, if we get there late would we still be able to get some runs in?

Forgot the most important question...how much does it cost to race? :1

I don't get done work till 6pm, maybe i can get out early but how far is that? I'd like to go since I didn't get to run my crx at the high school challenge at the groove, I could be 22 and still be in high school right, well they didn't think so :P

Mapquest says an hour 41 min from home and only about and hour from my work but they take different ways i don't know but both probably suck in rush hour traffic on fri :-\

Whitey what way do you take 95?

Yeah, that sucked, but I did get a cool free t-shirt and a nasty sunburn! 8)
Hopefully my n/a LS teg will break into the mid 15s. :8

Oh yeah, if anyone has a mbc dave could borrow for the night (or buy), he said he'd be down to come too. He doesnt want to see his depressing times w/his car running 6psi, so the only way he said he'd go is if he finds a boost controller to use. So if anyone has one of these local, let me know.

Why dosen't he take it back from Josh since all his cars are in pieces right now anyways...I need to know if I get there at 7ish I'll still be able to run, how late does it go till? will i get more than one run in?

Dan if you aren't gonna be able to leave till later you guys could meet me at my work and we can go from there, let me know

Re: HMT meet this Friday @ Cecil County

Mmmm, it doesnt really matter when I leave b/c I have no school/work on friday. All I wanted to do on friday was strip my interior. Dave said he wants to get there early, and I did tell him about trying to borrow it from josh again, for some reason he didnt think of that ??? oh well, its dave...
Usually these night races go pretty late into the night(from what i've heard about maple grove), but I'm sure someone that has been there already could give us a word onto how late they last and if getting multiple runs in is possible.

lanes close at 10:30 if you get there early you should get a few runs in pretty quickly, it gets crowded as hell at about 8:00pm. lanes open at 5:00.

Re: HMT meet this Friday @ Cecil County

How many runs could you get it an hr if it was "crowded as hell", just wondering, to gauge if the drive is worth it for Matt.
I wouldnt mind getting there early, getting some runs in, and then maybe one later on, against matt of course... :6

Re: HMT meet this Friday @ Cecil County

I was only there on a Friday night once. we got there at 7:45, we didn't have a jacket to run so we had to borrow one so we could only run when the person who owned the jacket wasn't. With that we still got in 9 runs. If we had a jacket and hot lapped it, you could have gotten easily 15+ runs in. Now I don't know if it was an off night but we got in a ---- ton of runs

Alright sounds good to me.
Any rules they like to enforce strictly for tech, that we would overlook?
I know both matt and dave have a coolant overflow but neither of them are really "attached", would this make a difference? Or should we ghetto rig something metal around them to hold them in place.
Would the overabundance of zipties in this bay matter?(note the overflow "placed" next to the battery):

Note to Matt: let me know if you and your Rex are going. I'm probably gonna go down early with Dave and whoever else drives down early with us.

Leather jacket to run the bikes, but you do need a fire jacket if you got turbo/nitrous

Damn, looks like dave can't run. I'll let him know about this jacket requirement, Josh's dad might have one he could borrow, if no one else has one he could use.

Buy one from Summit, they're $45.00 and it'll be here by Friday

I'll let him know. Maybe he'll buy one, but he'll probably just try his hardest to borrow one knowing his cheap ass.

the best night to race is on weds test and tune its still 12 bucks and not nearly as crowded

Re: HMT meet this Friday @ Cecil County

I'm down for sure. Sold the car so I actually have some gas money. ---- yeah!
Dave bailed but Matt is still coming after work and I might have someone else driving with me to race.
I'll probably get down there @ 5:30, I'm guessin if I leave at 4:15 that should get me there about then.
(got some directions, 100, to 113, to 30 to 10, sound like the shortest route?)

I think better than that b/c my friend w/his 92 teg ran 15.9 last weekend at maplegrove. With bad launches, crappy street tires, heavy 16s, and wheel hop.

i have a 92 Integra at 10 psi--i will go down if there is a helmut or jacket i can borrow

i think it is 13.99 faster making helmet mandatory (i doubt that will happen)

danronian 05-05-2006 12:38 PM

Re: HMT meet this Friday @ Cecil County

You need a fire jacket if you are running a turbo (aforementioned by whitey). Don't know who has one you could borrow though. Its only $10 admission, worth it to see me and matt make fools of ourselves in our slow hondas...haha.

I'm just going off what my friends ran. B18 in a 90' Civic DX. Ran a consistent 15.8 but than again that motor was beat. I raped him with my all motor single cam :y
