HMT Lift Kit for the hot TC80
So, the TC is known for riding only the baddest big boy bikes, except the back tire can't go fast when it's rubbing on the fender. Here is a stock PW(TC)80, in all of it's ugly glory:
http://www.psndealer.com/powersports...s/2003pw80.jpg Tools needed: Two pieces of pipe, a welder, some electrical tape and maybe some rubber circle things. http://img96.imageshack.us/img96/8830/moto1ny6.jpg The concept: I know what you're thinking, I must be some type of engineer or something. You'd be wrong. http://img482.imageshack.us/img482/2331/moto2qv8.jpg The Installed masterpiece: Note: Don't clean anything, it'll make your new parts stand out better. http://img231.imageshack.us/img231/4058/moto3kt9.jpg As you can see, this mod really impresses neighborhood kids, and you're sure to have sex with thier moms. http://img231.imageshack.us/img231/5535/moto4ww5.jpg While I had everything apart, I punched out all the restrictive garbage in the muffler to make less of a restriction, and I also milled the head on the side of the chop saw. As soon as I figure out the difference between the two screws on the carb I'll be able to tune this bitch to run hot style. |

Niceeeeeeeeee
One screw is your idle adjustment which is a given on any carb, No idea what the other one is for though. Could be your air/fuel adjustment screw if it's anything like my r/c truck O0 |

Re: HMT Lift Kit for the hot TC80

You're in too, but we can't give you credit for 88cc because you're from Canadia.

I would just weld on two new tabs that are a bit longer on the outside of the stock ones. Then just cut a couple small spacers and use a longer bolt. |
Re: HMT Lift Kit for the hot TC80
Good ---- Steve.
I'm In!! http://www.we-todd-did-racing.com/fi...f/IMGP0033.JPG 50CC of pure two stroke fury. I can ride this bitch leanen to da side on two wheels down the street. It gets me mad stupid stay at home mom ----- 8) . Harleys are over rated. Women like to feeld the buzz of a 50cc vibrator humming betwenn their legs as they grab on tight while this little bitch gets us to 20mph ;) |
Re: HMT Lift Kit for the hot TC80
I'm gonna need a proportion picture on that one to see how big it really is. I've been looking at this little 4wheeler for Derek that you can choke between 5 and 35 mph, but I'm not sure if it's too big for him.

Re: HMT Lift Kit for the hot TC80
Steve, this is the smallest quad I could find. Plus its a 2 stroke but it mixes the fuel so you dont have to ---- with trying to be consistent on your mix. Its electric start and kick start. It even has a horn which my son thinks is the coolest part of the whole thing :P
Picts as requested ;) http://www.we-todd-did-racing.com/fi...Scanned-16.jpg http://www.we-todd-did-racing.com/fi...Scanned-19.jpg Its a great little quad. It gets up to 25ish or so whith my baig ass on it. With a pipe and a little tuning it can see 30 easily. All the rest of the little quads are 4 strokes and the YAmahas are huge compared to this thing. |
Re: HMT Lift Kit for the hot TC80
That looks to be a good size, especially since growing into it looks like it'd carry them for alot of years. I was going to go to this guys shop and see what these were all about. He's about an hour from me.
https://i9.ebayimg.com/01/i/000/86/f0/e7ee_0.JPG I can't really tell if it's going to be small enough from the picture, but they're like $800. I looked on the polaris site and it says yours is $2000. :o I want him to have fun, but I gots me a shuttle to finish. |
Re: HMT Lift Kit for the hot TC80
Those things in that picture there are smaller than a power wheels. The engines are 4 stroke with a cheap chinese bearings that will take a ---- after break in. Trust me I know ::) .In the long run its cheaper to get one from a reputable company.
I paid $1700 out the door. Thats with tax liscense and assembly fees. I put it on my credit card and I pay $100 a month on it just cause I want it paid quick and moma wouldnt let me pay it cash. :-\ |

The point I was making is that those quads are made in china with chineese grade, Hotrex aproved parts. They are sold as in and have maybe a 60 days warrenty if they guy is still there by the time your 60 days are up. Polaris quads are made in China yes, but I highly doubt they use Chineese grade internals. Polaris will back up their products against manufacturer defects on all their parts. The same cant be said for those Hotrex grade quads. I wouldnt bet $800 on how long that ching chow meow quad will last. If you can wheel and deal $600 more will get you a quality quad that you wont have to woryy about having it fall apart as your 5 y.o is riding it. |
Re: HMT Lift Kit for the hot TC80
it's the same internals and everything, we used to have to do warranty work for a shop that sold chingchong meow quads because we were the only place to get aeon parts at. and that shop went out of business. The only real problem we had with those 50's is the starter breaking when riders got the brushes wet then the kick start arm breaking from using it all the time. Never really had a problem with them that wasn't just pure user negligence. they're pretty solid.

Re: HMT Lift Kit for the hot TC80
I'm gonna go to a couple shops today to see if there's anything else good out there. I remember one of the shops had a really small one but they classified it as a "big boy" toy. We'll see about that.

Re: HMT Lift Kit for the hot TC80
Went to 3 different places and they all had the equivilent to the polaris sized one you have. Still too big for any kind of safe riding this year. He did fit on a ktm mini50 adventure, but he's been hoopin and hollarin about 4 wheelers lately, so I'm not trying to buy him something just because it's about his size.
I might end up making him a gokart or something. Who fucken knows. |

Re: HMT Lift Kit for the hot TC80
go kart for ------- sure. you can take go karts in any direction lol. Ive had one we made with a gsxr 600... fast as ----. one with a chainsaw motor lol.. one with shocks and more suspension travel than most trucks.
All ridin by 5-7 year olds, cept the gsxr kart.. ---- that, it scared me lol, no kid is riding that thing ever. I wonder how hard it would be to make one for like a b16 or something?? I should give it a shot. It would be more of a buggy though for all that weight in the back. |
Re: HMT Lift Kit for the hot TC80
B-series would be a bitch, the shift linkage would cause a lot of head aches. cable shifters make it a lot easier. go get an old f-series accord motor throw some side draughts on it and get an LSD trans
|
Re: HMT Lift Kit for the hot TC80
I was thinking maybe old si motor with some dual side draft webers lol. I got one of those already laying around too.
