i think it would be a good idea, i think people can go somewhere else for general bullshit discussions and come to hmt for cars and turbos and stuff.

general discussion is on almost every forum, yes peple need to talk about random shiet and not always about cars, some people arent on 100 forums they just go to a car forum where you can talk about anything, including cars,

look at evans tuning, pgmfi, efi101. those are mostly tuning/tech oriented forums. not a bunch of stupid post ----.

take the link to the gd off the forums page and have it hidden so if you wanna talk in the gd u gotta click a link you got in your pm box kinda like the criminal country people ;D

that way its still there for us, newbs wont have access to it, and the site doesnt look like a kkk clan meeting

No matter what you do, people will always post BS.

Getting rid of GD won't solve the problem, it'll just cause people to post the BS in forums they shouldn't go in. GD is required on every forum. Sounds good in theory, but sometimes I just want a good 'ol post of BS or ms paint war. HMT has some good BS (and turbo info).

Should make it once you get like a thousand posts or so, then you can post in GD. Kinda like how HT regulates their noobs. If you want to chizzat then PM the fucker or break out the phone. That would eliminate like all the BS threads that are made. Where else would a nonauto related thread get moved to if someone posted it....to the ------- trash. You can still BS with people in the the hybrid/turbo/porn+fab/FM forum but just include some useful info. I think it would get rid of alot of noobs and dumbasses. Johnny, I think we should give it a try for like a month and see if it cleans up the site. Just my .02

that will get old for you mods really quick...

bullshitting with each other is the thing that makes me choose this site over other sites. If I just want to read about turbos i'll get a book or go to google.

Like the other person said, without GD it won't be much of a community.

I get your point, but deleting GD will only increase the bs, lose members (and info), and make the place "not as fun."

The freedom of speech and non-censorship of this particular site is what makes it unique. Most of the material that would be up for censorship is posted in the GD, Therefore by eliminating GD from HMT, would make it just like any other turbo site out there.

when was the last time you drove 300 miles to help a member work on his car, or went out to help local members get ---- done and troubleshoot cars. not everyone has the cash to do ----, especially while in school.
