Those oven get very hot after some time. You should not put it on the carpet

Just go out and buy a small charcoal grill, pour in a heaping pile of charcoal, light it and be sure to close all the doors and windows.

Actually that setup is probably safer than the baseboard. :P

You should look into toyo kerosine burners. I have a monitor heater in my home, and its considered the failure form of the lot, but the damn thing works. Something like 93.4% thermally eff.

Apparently, according to 'Al' you can burn off-road diesel and all sorts of petroleum distilates in them as well, mixing kerosine to keep the diesel from gelling.
