+1 For the free food. My dad works at the homeless shelter, when Im broke, I just go visit him at work, and I dont have to stand in line. ;)

When I get paid, I splurge on IHOP...

totinos pizza-three meat, it cost a dollar at walmart. then you get get a huge bag of french fries for 3.30 or something and add some of those to it if you want. if you want it fast cook it in the microwave for 3-4 min or cook it in the oven for ten. that and cereal isnt to expensive if you buy the cheap big bags, they can last you a couple days for 3$ and some cents. macroni and cheese is my other favorite but it takes time and if im feeling lazy i dont like making it.

Go vegetarian, lots of rice, lots of potatoes. Any vegetables you can either grow, buy cheaply from local producers or get from a green grocer.

If i'm feeling really poor, i have rice and tarka dal with some fried onions. Costs about $0.10 per serving and really fills you up, plenty of protein from the lentils. Plenty of carbs from the rice, a few spices and its tasty as hell.
