Voting is for ------- suckers. Do you think any of those people actualy give a ---- once they get into office? All voting got me is wasting 2 weeks of work for some drug related armed robbery jury duty. Anyone willing to sink that much money into campaigning, because they think that they're the right person for the job over everyone else is an ego driven douchebag who is only there for power and to promote themselfs farther into life. Using whatever means possible to sway your vote into that favor, even if it means externaly binding themselfs to a specific partys manifesto while hiding their actual motivations from the public.

I vote for who I like and who makes more sense to me. I do not vote for someone who falls under an umbrella catagory of "democrat" or "republican" I try to think for myself and not roll with a group. so where the Independant choice?

Stevemode, I know you don't need an explanantion, but here's mine...

I'm not as much worried about the candidates, as I am about the propopistions we have to vote on here in Arizona. For instance we had at least three different props that involved illegal immigrants. Two of these were No Probabtion option for Illegals convicted of a crime, and the other is that they cannot receive awards from any lawsuits they may file. Another prop was about banning smoking in public places. And believe it or not, we had to vote in English as our state's official language, AGAIN!

The candidates are just a side issue for me. I choose them by reviewing their voting record on key issues I am interested in. There are all kinds of specal interest sites that track this for you, just watch out for different biases. If the current guy has voted as he said he would, and happens to agree with me, then I vote to keep him in. Otherwise, I'll resort to voting Republican when I can. If that doesn't seem good and no choice is clear, I resort to less respectable ways of choosing...

Get out and vote!

We only had one proposition. It was an ammendment to the constitution that we pay 3 billion from the vehicle registration fees to "transportation". The way it was written was "no less than 60% to mass transit (cute little downtown trains) and no more than 40% to roads. If you read the percentages wisely, it basically says they don't have to spend any on the roads, and can spend all of it on cute downtown trains= not transportation. Of course taking the 3 billion from the vehicle registration fee (which is already being spent elsewhere) will now be missing from whatever programs it's funding= tax increase to continue those programs= no fucken way.

I did get a kick out of the unchallenged candidates for county sherrif and ----. There's one name on the ballot (who will obviously win) and a write in, so I used the write in on a couple of them to vote for my son and Homie the Clown. O0

this was my dad for this year as sherrif. he didnt win the primary because 6 people ran and split up the vote. he was the most qualified but Harford county Md is a bunch of clickish people. my dad had nothing to do with the republican party when they wanted money or other ----, so he didnt get it.

i am going to go vote now. not all poiticains are selfcenterd ego boosters. most are but not all.

Only proposition we had is to give 20mil to people who fought in 90-91.

ohio had 4 major issues

2 smoking "bans"
1 slot machine
1 minimum wage increase

one of the smoking bans is called smokefreeohio, and is funded by the cancer societies. it bans smoking everywhere pretty much but certain bars and has a 2500$ fine for people that dont follow it
the other is called smokelessohio and is by the tobacco companies. it basically does nothing, except get rid of all smoking bans in the cities that have already gotten rid of smoking...it ingenious, and its a constitutional ammendmant, so if both passes, this one overrides. id vote for it a heartbeat, if for no other reason it makes me laugh that the tobacco compnies are so good that most of the state has no idea how little it does
then there is a slots issue...as to whether or not to put slots in ohio, with the proceeds going to higher education. this one is shady as ---- cuz only a few very rich people in the state get the rights to put in slot machines
minimum wage increase is from 5.50 to 7.15 i think, but is ultra shady because they also allow employers to give out ur information..

Yeah, we had the banning gay marriage one as well.

The cute little train issue was voted down by us three times before they sidetracked it and got it around us anyway. Some dude was so pissed off, that he snuck a gun into Phoenix city council and shot one of the proponents in the butt before she could get away. Yay for him, we don't need any f'n trains.

TT you're out'ta Chandler? I'm in Mesa, but didn't get to vote because I'm still registered in Pima county. I've lived in the Phoenix area for 5ish months now but haven't registered in Maricopa yet. The issues seem to be similar to Tucson, immigration, immigration, immigration.

We should get a bunch of South West HMT nogs together and border hop to Mexico, walk around speaking English, street racing boosted vehivcles, wearing designer ----, with "support our troops" bumper stickers and American flags. That'll show 'em.

You have to go out and vote. as a home owner are many questions about domain issues and tax issues. also it's what makes this country one of the best. and my father, grandfather , uncles and brother fought for our right to vote. the least we can do is get off our fat lazy asses and vote.

We had two issues, transportation (Steve already covered), and Minneapolis had an "Instant Run-off voting" option. Both were passed.

And on the issue of black people being "stupid." Blacks tend to score lower on IQ tests (85 is the average) compared to caucasians (100 average). Asian-Americans are the highest average, standing at a solid 115.

I'm not sticking up for anyone but thats an invalid point. Success is not based on race. Its based on two simple things. Desire and Opertunity. Every one in this country has the later of the two. Some people just have different desires or priorities. I have met plenty of "white" people that are full of ---- and bullshit'ed their way into a high position. I have also met plenty "minorities" that worked their way up the food chain. There are dip shits in every breed.
