Re: HMT Accord vs EVO IX.

I ran an evo with my accord, I had a 100hp shot of nitrous, cold air intake, and a full exhaust sytem. we did a rolling start from 30 mph. I got him by 3 lengths. we raced again from a stop and he got me by about 4 lengths. I raced an sti the same night and had close to the same results, but from a stop he only got me by 2 lengths.

Have any of you guys actually driven one of these Evo9 MR's? In all seriousness, these cars are no joke. I've driven my friend's quite a few times, so maybe I can give some insight. Traction off the line is it's biggest advangtage...the stock advans on those cars will not break loose for the life of em. It pretty much feels like you're being shot out of a cannon on the launch. Downside on em is boost fades out at higher rpm (due to too small a turbo for the motor), and they have around a 7500rpm redline. Even in my 89 hatch with a boosted LS running 14 psi on a 16g7cm2 @ the time I still had a tough time trying to keep up with it. On the launch he will own you hard, so just hope you can catch up enough when he starts losing it on the top end.

I`ve driven couple and my boos' all the time, right now he has I/H/E and it does pull a lot harder at rpm compare to stock....but still at higher speed the accelration just tappers off.

Re: HMT Accord vs EVO IX.

a stock f22 with a cheapo kit should run high 14's with a decent driver, now with a bigger turbo your probually looking at low 14's maybe, evo mr's run high 13's stock and don't cost $40,000 by the way. You'll probually loose, but it'd be pretty cool if ya beat him, I say race for fun not for money. Take it to the track too and see what it can really do, I've seen guys run 16's in modded s2000's and high 16's/low 17's in rx8's.

yea im gona go to the track after i get it tuned, i hoping to be around 14 if not high 13s, be we'll find out, as for the evo, i know this isnt like some lame ass in a ford taurus, its a fast ------- car, i might ask for lenghts cause he thinks its probably n/a, cause my other car is, trust me when i get the vids and when it goes down you will all know right after.
