20 psi what turbo?

It's a PTE SCM50. I got a couple pulls on video too, but I have to have my friend upload it because I don't have firewire on my computer. I'll put up a the dyno vid when I can.

---- that sounds pretty good for AWD.What is the loss vs 2wd?This is the one you just put a fresh/built motor in or something isnt it?Its nice to see the DSM link etc around now so everybody is getting to have good cheap management :6

not bad, that 50 trim t3/t4 can make 450+ hp so at 20 psi i would expect to see more power, how well is it tuned?

It says in the corner 273ftlbs ;)

its pretty good but a an evo 8 with a stock turbo (big 16G) can do like 295 whp and 330 wtq. at 20 psi, and that pte50 is capable of a lot more than a big 16G

ju-on 11-21-2006 08:44 PM

Re: Hit the rolllers last night

It was tuned.

Dyno Dynamics read on average of like 13% lower then a Dynojet, which are the numbers everyone seems to be pretty used to now a days. I could convert it to dynojet numbers like lots of people do to make their numbers sound bigger, but that's retarded I think, and who the ---- cares. On this dyno, that was a pretty decent pull for pump gas.

This was on pump gas. No way am I going to hit the max potential of this turbo on pump gas and 20 pounds. This is my safe, daily drivable street tune. With some C16 and 15 more pounds, then I should be closer to the 400 range.

Re: Hit the rolllers last night

And Evo 8's 16g's are not a "big 16g". Those turbos flow a lot for their size, and are putting down pretty damn good numbers.

dyno dynamics are ALOT closer to reality than dynojets. If his car woulda been on a dyno jet im sure hed be posting sheets with 315whp+

evo 3 big 16g
tdo5h-16g6-7, 7 cm2 (68 mm comp.) 550 cfm

evo 8 16g
tdo5hr-16g6-9.8t, 9.8 cm2 ( 68 mm comp.) 550 cfm

although a compressor map shows the 7cm2 starts to choke out at about 490 cfm, where as the 9.8 cm2 will start to choke out around 540 cfm...

Nice, can't wait for the dyno vids :)

nice, do you remember what arron made on that dyno(indian guy red talon)? that thing does read insanely low, I was at the tcstangs dyno day they had there and not one car broke 400hp, not even the turbo 350 rx7.

Take it to the drag strip where the numbers will show. :y. Good stuff.

big16g or evo3 16g? Pick one, and stick with it, don't mix em together like they are the same turbo.

Anyway, I don't care. Apparently you know more about my car and setup and the dyno I was on and the tune I was going for, then me.

285 on a all wheel drive Dyno Dynamics, going for a safe, low 11afr tune for daily driving, is just fine to me.

If you're expecting to see me in the 400's on pump with my setup, you're nuts.

Also, this is the SCM series, which has the mitsubishi exhaust housing on it and not the t3 housing, which takes a little performance away from it, for the sake of bolting on to a stock manifold.

Werd, that seems to really be the only way to show how it performs, with so many different dynos, adjustments, blah out there. Once the cold goes away, and spring hits. I'll be there getting numbers! But I might be on an E85 setup by then.

I think Aaron has a big16g, and made like 172 a long time ago or something like that. I think that was actually before he owned the car though. But recently they got it somewhere in the low 200's I believe. I don't know exact numbers. But hopefluly once he's done doing his little swap, he'll put it up on the dyno and we'll see.

Setup? Or am I missing it somewhere?

Nice numbers btw. Must be a FUN street car.

ju-on 11-22-2006 12:53 AM

Re: Hit the rolllers last night

Setup is basically...

2.0L, 50-trim, homemade 3" exhaust, fmic with homemade 2.5" charge pipes, 3" homemade intake, tuning with DSMLink, some hks 272 crap copycats (going up for sale after seeing them die like that in the upper RPM's), and just the typical supporting mods that would go with it.

noboostedEGo 11-22-2006 01:03 AM

Re: Hit the rolllers last night

Cool. Why do you think the 272s died up top so badly?

ju-on 11-22-2006 08:59 AM

Re: Hit the rolllers last night

I'm thinking, because they aren't real 272's, they are copies sort of. They are stock cams, reground by a company called FFWD, to be the same specs as 272's supposidely. And my bet is that they really aren't that good of copies. I think this winter, one of my changes will be to sell these, and go with a different set of cams. Possibly some fp2's from Forced Performance.

accordepicenter 11-22-2006 02:16 PM

Re: Hit the rolllers last night

i think its the stock manifold and small exhaust housing causing reversion because they are a bottleneck with the big cams. Either upgrade the turbo and get a better turbo manifold or get smaller cams.

he made 170something before he blew the head gasket and got the front mount. I thought he was in the low to mid 200's with it now. Ran something in the 13's, I just forgot the exact number and did'nt have my phone on me to call him cause I left it at work
