Default Hey do high milage cars work better with the spark plugs gapped closer?

my wife's car is a 96' kia sephia and it shakes a little on idle when the transmission is on Drive and the foots on the brake. when it's in neautral it barely shakes. do plugs get gapped bigger or smaller on high milage, 116k miles?
the distributor timming is advanced all the way cause that's how it idles the best and i just replaced the o2 sensor and it ran idled better for 2 days, and after that it's back to how it was. spark plugs are almost new, along w/dist. cap & rotor. thanks guys.
