Here is your liberalism

1920's douche, even you yourself said "the definition of liberalism has changed" in another argument thread I had with you. So has the definition and political stance of the democratic and republican party. If you want to go by the old intended definitions then you yourself are a liberal in the terms of classic liberalism.

Because of the elite conservative political structure in Alabama, the state's Klansmen were among the foremost advocates of better public schools, effective prohibition enforcement, expanded road construction, and other "progressive" political measures. In many ways these progressive political goals, which benefited ordinary and lower class white people in the state, were the result of the Klan offering these same people their first chance to install their own political champions into office.
Southern Democrats: 1-20 (5%-95%) (only Senator Ralph Yarborough of Texas voted in favor)
Southern Republicans: 0-1 (0%-100%) (this was Senator John Tower of Texas)
Northern Democrats: 45-1 (98%-2%) (only Senator Robert Byrd of West Virginia opposed the measure)
Northern Republicans: 27-5 (84%-16%) (Senators Bourke Hickenlooper of Iowa, Barry Goldwater of Arizona, Edwin L. Mechem of New Mexico, Milward L. Simpson of Wyoming, and Norris H. Cotton of New Hampshire opposed the measure)
including Senators Albert Gore Sr. (D-TN), J. William Fulbright (D-AK), and Robert Byrd (D-WV).
ooooo Al Gore's father voted against it did he. another racist democrat who panders to blacks to get votes. oh and also robert KKK byrd
Howard W. Smith was a powerful Virginian Democrat who chaired the House Rules Committee, opposed civil rights laws for blacks, but he supported them for women, The bill divided and engendered a long-term change in the demographics of both political parties. President Johnson realized that supporting this bill would mean losing the South's overwhelming support of the Democratic Party.

Personally, I'm a moderate. Being a moderate, I don't really tie myself to any particular party. I support candidates based on who supports them. In the end we know those supporters will be the one the politician helps out. For example, I would not vote for GW Bush because I have no ties in oil, building weapons of war, and being a born again Christian. If I were, I would have voted for him. If you voted for him and you don't have any ties in those 3 things, I would feel gypped.
