Here are some restaurant picts....now with menu added by request

menu is at the bottom

Well here are some picts of what the restaurant looks like so far as of a few days ago.Ive been to tired to make a post :P.There is only a few more things that need to be done. The kitchen will be done tomorrow. We hope to open on saterday the 21 but well see what happens :-\.After we got jacked it held us up a week.

A few picts are kind of blurry couse my camera phone had lint on the lense(couse I keep it in my pocket and they're allways empty) :-[ :P .Hope you guys like it.

http://www.we-todd-did-racing.com/we...MXk1NDE%3D.jpg
The colors are kind of bright couse they are suposed to be invinting and also suposedly red, yellow and blue make you hungry ???.The red roof over the kicthen was my Idea.My family thought I was nuts at first couse they couldnt imagine a roof inside...now every one loves it.The seating are is kind of small. It will acomodate 38 people comfortably but max capacity is 42.
http://www.we-todd-did-racing.com/we...MXk1NDE%3D.jpg
Here is another shot. The salsa bar and the soda machine is whats on the counter you see down the hallway. The bathrooms are all the way in the back on the right.
http://www.we-todd-did-racing.com/we...MXk1NDE%3D.jpg
Here is a shot of the kicthen looking out of the storage area.My pimp ass charcoal stainless steel grill is in those cardboard boxes you see on the floor.
http://www.we-todd-did-racing.com/we...MXk1NDE%3D.jpg
Here is a shot of the cookline looking in from the side door into the kitchen. The charcoal grill will go in betwen the griddle and the stove.
http://www.we-todd-did-racing.com/we...MXk1NDE%3D.jpg
Here is a shot looking in through the pick up window.I wanted people to be able to see what we were doing back there.

looks sweet man...its gotta be the BEST feeling in the world seeing you OWN business finally getting up and running. all the hard work finally pays off. me and my buddy are trying to open a shop this summer, finances seem right, but we just have to find a decent area and get our own things together before making the big move. good luck with business man!! :)

Re: Here are some restaurant picts....

Looks good. The colors are a tad bright, but I can't say that the majority of mexican food places haven't been. At first I thought you were trying to go all "El Torrito" on us, but it's good to see that you're going more "hole in the wall". ;) The food is better there anyway.

You know I'm flying in once you have a spare minute. The bean and cheese burrito is the teller of all. That's all I'll need to order. ;)

lookin' good raffi :)

All will be well I know it. ;) Damn so with the business and all you ain't comin' to SoCal for a meet anytime soon huh :'(

And I agree with steve on the bean and cheese. The bean and cheese burrito determines the resturants yummyliciousness. Take a picture of the first bean and cheese burrito, I wanna see it :D

Re: Here are some restaurant picts....

As and exuctive chef i offer this advice.

1) dont use ribeye its to expensive use flank or skirt steak.
2) always have lots of choulua hotsauce around.
3) stay open late and get a alcohol license.

if you serve alcohol and hot sauce they wil come.

good luck.

and hire real mexicans.l

Re: Here are some restaurant picts....

Worked in kitchens for a while, make sure your cooks keep that place clean, some of the kitchens ive been in were just filthy, and disgusting. Just clean everything everynight, wiping down ---- that doesnt even look dirty, cause aafter a week it will be nasty as helll.

But good luck, the first year is the hardest, after that, it should be all downhill from there...

Thanks guys. :)

You know I'm flying in once you have a spare minute. The bean and cheese burrito is the teller of all. That's all I'll need to order.
You know our beans will be good couse this aint Cali. and we dont have any health conciouse yuppies here so our beans will be refried with good old lard for that real gangsta flava 8).

looks great raffi, so what ever happened with your trailer and ----?
Nothing came about it.Turns out the cops werent even looking for it.The detective whos name was on the police report as the asigned cop didnt even know the case was his ??? ::).Its ok though. At least its a tax write off :-\

1-Sysco is giving us a pretty good deal so ribe eye is only 2.50 a pound.A taco wich will have 3 ounces of meat will be 1.90.Do the math ;).Plus were not woried about making a killing. We want repeated customers. My dad allways told us that "its beter to have a constant drip rather than one big gush".
Flak and skirt steaks are too grainey and kind of tough.Even chopped up its like chewing gum.For our fajitas were going to use flap meat wich is also a little more expensive but you can beat the tendernes.
2-Cholula is ok but all of our salsas will be made the way my mom used to make them....fresh!
3-the liquor liscense is on hold since we used our reserve money to but our new equiptment.
and as far a hiring real Mexicans, wellwe aint hireing no one.Its going to be strictly family operated for a while. At least untill we get off our feet.

what sorta deal do fellow HMT'ers get?
10%off ;)

looks good.. we tried to open a store front in one of those shopping centers.. I never realized how much those ------- places own you on rent.. the place we were looking at was 3500 a month.. crazy ----.
We got a pretty good deal.$9 a foot plus $3 for tripple net(maintenence and ----).The place is 1450sqft.Its rite off the I-35 in between a row of dealers,2 hospitals and a plastic surgery plaza. The nearest restaurants are 2 exits in eather direction(about 1 mile). So in traffic that translates to a 1/2 hour away :P.Were also surounded by a comunity of 5000 homes.

Both my brother and I are clean freeks and Im a slite germ-a-phobe :-[ so I think our kitchen will be pretty clean. But I know what you mean about dirty kicthens :-X.

Re: Here are some restaurant picts....

Good luck with the venture. And if you hire anyone make sure to give them free food / a hefty discount otherwise there just gonna take it anyways. I used to work for the most strict over the shoulder lookin cheapasses ever and I could still walk out with a full stomach of lobster, crab, shrimp, and scallops... all because they offered such a small employee discount and didnt pay well. >:D

Re: Here are some restaurant picts....

again good luck...but how are you getting ribeye for $2.50 a pound. i buy $30,000 a month from sysco and the best price i get is $5.05. what type of ribeye is it and can you give me a product number? :)

blue is absolutely not appetizing, neither is green. but yellow and red and orange purple too. almost any color you would find on a fruit.

Re: Here are some restaurant picts....

$2.50 / 16 ounces in a pound = $0.156 per ounce
3 ounces to a taco = $0.468

god damn raffy - that's a pretty good profit
congrats on getting everything off the ground...whatever happened to the ---- that got stolen? get it sorted out?

Don't worry about it dude. My mother in law opened her own insurance agency and barely scraped by for a year, while she and her husband lived in a mobile home. Fast forward 15 years, today they live in a $2.5 mil 10k square foot home. Persistance pays off, and oh yeah, DON'T SKIMP ON ADVERTISING!!!
