well, i started part time at subway about a month ago for shits and giggles, and hte funs over. i called my birthday weekend off (3-5th on nov) and now im no longer on the schedule, thus they're waiting to fire me.

okay, so. the back door has a little flap for dropping the key off at, and im trying to figure out whether to get like 10,000 crickets, or a hundred mice or so. this would be hilarious as there is predominatly girls working all shifts, opening the store to find ten thousand crickets all over the place would be rofl.

ALSO. this is within hearing distance/patrol sight of the township cops, so it can't be anything too loud (ie my idea of moving all the dumpsters from behind (9 or 10) and building them 2 wide across the back door, at angles where a garbage truck cannot pick them up (limited room)

any ideas?

why dont you just give the key back and leave, the owner was nice enough to give a ---- up a chance and you blew it. For them to invest the time to train you and ---- just so you can ---- it up in less then a month means he made a bad choice, youve cost him enough already, you should act like a man and not like a faggot and thank him for the chance to prove yourself. Maybe next time you wont be a fuckup.

What is with people and their birthdays? Just another day to me. Like people get upset that they have to work on their birthdays. Take the time off ahead of time if you are so upitty about your b-day.

i don't have a key. only the manager does, and there is a key that must be returned back inside so we can lock the door on close shift, and not take the key (problems with break ins a while back because of this)

and my manager is s bitch, not a bastard.

they (senority employees/management) never trained me. only 2 people did, who were also new. most of what i learned was what i figured out myself.

when she hired me, i didn't know who the ---- she was, until after i started working there. she didn't introduce herself (i was pretty much hired by the girl thats my age, been working there for 5 years) while the manager just handed her the application. and how do i ---- up when im not working? one of the cuntface employees that started 2 weeks before me has been being a total cuntface, complained to the chain manager about ---- that never happened, other co-workers backed this up and the chain manager didn't wanna hear it.

and highroller, what the ----? can you not read? i never said i had a key. i've been COMPLIMENTED by customers AND employees at the quality job/friendly service that i provide, while my manager tells me i need to 'put the food together faster at the bain' (where they make the subs) when i can make pretty much any sub as fast if not faster than her.

i was told i would have 25 to 30 hours a week. not 0 to 6.

That is why I asked for clarification.

He said he called it off. That implies that he said it was over.

He should have said that he requested the time off when he took the position. That would be much more clear. But that is neither here not there.

If they are not giving you the hours you want, and not giving the time off you requested on day one...just tell them that you are needing more hours and the time off. If they say no, then just tell them you are going to be leaving them in two weeks time.

Don't tell them to -----off over something lke this. Better to have the contact/referance for later.

but subway is a shitty place to work, i worked there when i was 17 (circa 1997) and i got fired my first day because my friend left early ( quit, basically) and i didn't call my manager and tell her, even though i left 2 hours before him. then not only did he get his job back the next day, he got a raise and promoted to ass. manager, while i had to beg for my job back, then next week he quit again, lol.

by the time i quit i was running 3 stores and working 60-70 hours a week, doing my managers job, but they would never promote me, instead they hired convicted felons that i had to train (twice) and both of them robbed the place and ran off, after that i said ---- this place and got a better job, lol.

just quit and walk away

Ditto, Quit quietly, no sense in making enemies for no reason. Look at it another way jobs comparable to subway wage wise are not hard to come by so it's not a terrible loss.

im going to do that pretty much, ill try and do it tomorrow after i apply for a full time daylight 7.50/hr w/ benefits at mcd's tomorrow. i need to get cash ahead so if i move on to a different job, i can deal with not being employed (only reason im working at subway is i didnt have any luck finding a job soon enough before i was out of $ rather fast.

at least mcdonalds is promising, more than subway. you CAN make a career out of that. (people making 10-12hr for being shift manager, before assistant manager, and manager, is decent..)

it's winter, noone is going to want to hire. in western pa, once the temp drops, the chance of finding a new job drops about 300% over the already shitty odds.

Truthfully, when you're working a minimum wage job, they don't give a crap what days you "request" off. They can replace you any time they want, so it's in YOUR best interest to just do what they tell you if you want to keep your job.

Sucks, but the only way to get out of that hole is to learn some skills and get a better paying job where they respect you.

<-------is semi=legal.......from a legal stand point.....dont do any dumbshit like put crickets and ---- in there. if you do that. then they will call up terminex or what ever. terminex will come spray..quarintine the place and come clean up a few days later..not to mention if the subway is in a multiplex or what ever. they'll be spraying every business in that strip.....and guess where the bill is gonna end up at....your mailbox.

but thats IF the GM is not dumber than ---- and doesnt know to call a laywer.

From what I've got, you got hired a month ago and at the time asked for your birthday weekend off and was granted, and you were told you were going to get a certain amount of hours? And now all of a sudden you're at 0-6 hrs on the schedule for no other reasons?

Things to consider:

1) Stealthmode is always right.

2) The reason you're in deep ---- with them is because of something you forgot to mention in this thread.

3) If you're the fuckup, why is retaliation necessary?

4) If you think Mcdonalds is a great career, the only advice I have is don't give so much priority to your birthday weekend if you're an amateur sandwich artist.

I just got laid off about a month ago. I took a vacation for a week and gave them 3 weeks notice to the trip. The first day i was back at the end of the day they laided me off and another co-worker. Without any notice!!! I wanted to ---- with them so bad but i took the high road and walked away and shook every hand on the way out. The next week i got a call from them asking if I did anything to my work truck because it would not start. They probley still think I did it. ooooooooooo well i got a letter of recomemendation from them anyways. ;D

im kinda curious as to how old you are. when i was 18-19 i was working on airplanes and in a machine shop. now im back to airplanes, but making twice as much as i was(6-7 years later). im so glad i dont work at wendy's anymore

need a job to go to college, unless i find a mexican selling one out of the trunk of his monte carlo.

i was going community but the need for money exceeded the need for college at the time, and the schooling i needed was not going to be able to be financially covered by me anytime soon.

and by the way, i'm 20 on friday. im still struggling with getting into the groove of things, i know if i don't im going to be stuck at someplace low wage and little to no benefits. kinda sucks but i will eventually get my life sorted out.

no, i just know that the job i'm doing is what is required, and then some.

and the 90day probation pretty much doesn't exist here (for some people); there is people that came in making more than people who've been there for a year or more when it's strictly against company policy.

When I got fired.... the only time ive been fired >:(, I dropped a deuce in the bed of my boss's truck. I worked night shift and did it about 3am. Night crew usually got off about 7am. I never heard anything after i did it. He didnt tell anyone at work that told me. :-\ Still, I can picture him finding it and it always makes me laugh.... :P :-X :3

who asks off work on their birthday? what a -----. i've missed work maybe 1 day in the last 2 years. and i had a severe sinus infection. If you want your employer to like you, you need to not ask off work and be there when he depends on you. everytime you ask off thats on his ass for having to find a replacement.. employers hate that ----.

i only read down to here because thats a lot of posts for this lol. but ya i agree you should go postal haha. but first wait till you get your last check and make sure you dont get lazy and say ahh shoot hmt was right i shouldnt go postal but in reality YOU SHOULD GO POSTAL why the ---- not? 1000 crickets would poribly be hard unless you bought like a 100 of them and told them to have babies and wait till you have tons of them. so theres a key slot like a mail box slot im guessing? hmmmm. now theres a few things you can gather up that would be pretty damn hilarious. theres always human fecies and urine. piss in a bucket or ---- in a bucket for about a week or two have everyone you know do it. and save it up for the night your going down there and pour or slide the ----/urine into the key slot. and dont just stop at one thing you can do multiple things like the crickets and the poop/pee.
then theres always finding the water outlet outside and hooking up a hose and leaving the water on all night. burning the place down is always a option. maybe poor oil threw the slot so when the manager walks in they fall and brack there leg or something. i dont know be creative try to take pictures or a video but dont get caught with it haha. and come up with something funny/original.
