Re:help me, im a n00b!!!
I contemplated using an LS on my boosted B16. After plugging in ratio's into a calculator I came to a definate no. In order to stay on the high speed cams after each shift you will need to rev it till 8800-9000 depending on gear.
IMHO, 'staying in boost longer LS tranny' is a myth. Both the s1 and j1 keep the motor in the sweet spot of the torque curve (even more so on a boosted b-series)
All bench racing aside, I dont think differences would be to drastic (1/4 times, etc..). The LS sure would be nicer if you drive alot of freeway.

There was a large thread about this on honda-tech, alot of the fast import guys on the board (10 sec/9 and even tony at jotech (8sec) were all saying GSR trannys with a LS 5th.
Shorter geared trannys are simply better for drag.
LS = ***
DX = ***

dude dms turbos are tiny.. all the tdo ones, my friend has one on a built dseries and its suckin ***, upgrading to t3/t04e now. A big turbo would be a t4 or t04, and for med size t3/t4. but if your not gonna build it then go with a small, low cfm piece of ---- and you wont blow anything up.
