Albany - University At Albany - Pierce Hall - located on Alumni Quad is said to be haunted by the spirit of a woman. Nobody knows who she is or why she walks the halls late at night. Many students have claimed to seen this ghostly specter all year round endlessly walking the halls.

i lived in the next building over, alden hall, and people who lived in pierce all knew about the ghost. interesting enough, 3 houses over from pierce hall, about 200 feet or so, there was rumor of a baby girl who was killed on the front porch of the house, and she haunts the porch. one of my friends was looking at renting the house, but went there and caught a weird vibe so didnt, then later heard the story.

Kingston - Montrepose Cemetery - Activity and energy surrounding that graveyard.

Kingston - Wiltwick Cemetery - Ghostly activity and energy inside that cemetery

ok i live in kingston, and can attest to both of these.

Poughkeepsie - Mid-Hudson Psychiatric Center - Mid Hudson psychiatric center is now closed. After dark loud noises and screams can be heard, sometimes-lost spirits are seen wandering the grounds. Reports of a large orb that chases people.

oh hell yea. the place just looks creepy as hell driving by it. many rumors about it. its right across the street from marist college, and about 3 minutes down the road from the culinary institute of america. the building is scary as ---- to look at, its all rounded and just plain odd

Butler County - McConnell's Mill State Park - The old Mill turned state park is home to many spirits who still roam the hills and Slippery Rock Creek. When the mill was operational a man who worked there always walked the same path to work. He carried his lunch in a box and a lantern. Rumor is the man died because of a malfunction in the equipment. Some nights if you park your car right above the mill the man can be seen walking down the hill to mill. He goes into the mill a light seems to be on and screams are heard coming from the mill. There is also the spirit of a caretaker that lived on the property from the early 1930's until his death around 1960. Times he can be seen chasing people away from the land he loved and took care of. Legend has it that a girl died in auto accident on the covered bridge that crosses Slippery Rock Creek beside the mill. Stories say she can be summoned by parking your car in the middle of the bridge turning off the engine and lights and honking your horn 3 times. She is supposed to appear in your rear view mirror. Natural human reaction is to turn around and look but she's never there and disappears from the mirror. Many people have lost their lives in the treacherous Slippery Rock Creek, which is more of a river in the surrounding area. Numerous adventurous young people have drown in waters. Several people have perished climbing the park's huge rock formations. There is no doubt it one of the most haunted areas in Butler, Pennsylvania.
lol, proof I was there:

Although I don't believe in that junk it still gave me the creeps, I walked up that hill that the guy supposedly walks down and I've been across that bridge.. just.. ahh!

Duvall / Maltby - Maltby Cemetery - It is hidden off to the right hand side of the Redmond Duval Road. (20 miles East of Seattle.) It has about 35 grave sights and strange, unexplained things happen there. People have seen women and children, dressed in old, raggedy looking close, wondering around the gravesites. Witnesses have also felt physical things like being hit.February 2005 additional information: There used to be a staircase that began at ground level and descended 13 steps below ground. I believe the legend/story was that it was a below-grade entrance to the opulent tomb of a locally wealthy family. In any case, kids used to get drunk near or in the cemetery and would walk down these steps late at night. It is unsure whether there were doors or simply a dirt wall at the bottom of these steps. Regardless, once you reached the bottom of the stairs and turned around you supposedly no longer saw the cemetery but a vision of Hell. The similarity in this story to yours is that this vision drove the subject to insanity. Anyone watching the subject walk down the stairs witnessed them stop, turn, and fall dumbfounded to their knees. Ive heard that several children emerged nearly comatose from the steps many of them never uttered another word. the story goes that these steps were bulldozed over (depending on the age of the storyteller, the bulldozing occurred anywhere from 1992 to the early 1960s) and that the severe NO TRESPASSING limitations were a result of that. Furthermore, There is rumor of illegal late night expeditions kids with shovels hoping to unearth Maltbys 13 Steps to Hell. It is suggested independently researching this tale. Either way, its a great story.
Any North-NW guys remember Maltby? We used to gather at this place that was really close to some cemetery that was supposedly haunted. We would street race there, but stopped going because it was just a shitty place to race. It was way too short, and my friend crashed there. Anyway, my friend's dad went to maltby during the daytime and took a bunch of random pictures. I've never seen them, but I guess when he developed them, there was a bunch of weird ---- appearing in them.

Personally, I think a bunch of this is a load of crap, but it does trip you out psychologically if you dwell on it. I've heard stories though. There's a lot of old Filipino tails about ghosts of all sorts, so I've heard some strange things. Guess it's part of the culture.

Check this out:

Everett - Mariner High School - At around midnight, the lights are supposed to be on like a normal school. Yet, on some nights, the lights shut off and if you're close enough, you can see and sense eyes staring at you from within the school. The only thing you can see is the eye. It looks like floating eyes from a distance. It's too dark to see the body but you can see the eyes because they have a subtle glow to it. Some sources say, if you stare at them for a while, you can see a figure of a winged man.
^^ My friend that went to Mariner totally made that ---- up, hahahaha! Somehow it made it to this site and a few others.

Wow I know of about 10 haunted places off the top of my head... and only one was on the list for NJ. I used to live about 5 miles from the supposed birthplace of the Jersey Devil... and actually have 2 quite scary experiences relating to that and offroading/camping in the surrounding woods. Owell I guess its a partial explaination of how wierd / crappy NJ is.

All in all, this stuff is crap, for 15years of my life, I live Right beside a cementary, Not just beside, like walk out my side door and I'm in it, we took care of this 10 acre place!! Never saeen anything, not scared by anything either!
But:

This is 30min from me, one Halloween they do tour a scare the living ---- out of kids!! It's halarious all messed up on something!!!

Ontario - Godrich - The old Jailhouse - In Godrich there is old jailhouse that they now open to the public to view. The owner and his family lived there in another part of the building. There have bee sightings of ghosts in some of the jail sells, and even in the part where the owner and his family lived. People suspect that they are the prisoners, trapped inside the jail. - November 2003 update: The jail is unique as it's built in an octagon shape with the governor's house connected by a hallway. The female staff would wear long skirts and white blouses. The attic of the Governor's house was closed and locked to keep the public out but many times a grandchild of the curators would hear footsteps. In the laundry room cold drafts & feeling like you are being watched where felt. The jail is the site of Canada's last hanging which took place in one of the courtyards, outside the walls on the right side (there is now a small office building there) was the prisoners graveyard. What many people do not know is that after the jail
closed as a jail it remained empty for a few years then the Children?s Aid Society moved into the Governor?s quarters as offices, which also would explain the laughing and running of children that is sometimes heard.

This is the other direction, I have friends that live on Roman Line, Never seen a thing!! But neighbor said they have.

Ontario - Lucan - Biddulph Township - The Roman Line - The Roman Line is haunted to this day, the road they always traveled from their house. People have reported to see a headless horseman, women screaming, and people have been reported to see The Donnelys. There are rumors that the Roman Line has bad luck for those who travel on it. On the anniversary of their deaths, you may witness all these things, when darkness comes, until morning.

Ontario - Lucan - Donnelly Gravesite - The Donnelly gravesite is said to be haunted by the Donnelly?s who are buried there. The corpses come out of the ground at night and start fights with the other ghosts.

Ontario - Lucan - The Donnelly Home Stead - There are many ghost stories related to the "Black" Donnellys of Lucan Ontario, about their homestead where they were murdered... and even the grave yard they were buried in. On February 4th 1880 the family was massacred by a vicious mob of murderers. It is said that their presence is still associated with the homestead to this day, there have been many books published on this subject in case you may be interested in reading about one of Canada's famous haunting story.

I live in vicksburg, ms and all the ones in vicksburg I've heard there is some truth to. I've seen a confederate soldier in the park while I was walking before. Thought it was a reenactor. Tylertown is where my best friend lives and is really considered part of vicksburg. That church is weird. I've seen it lit up at night with no one out there. As far as duff green, a friend of mine worked out there and he said the ghost stories are on the level. Also McRaven is just creepy. They're info on vicksburg is pretty decent.
