CivicZC: For the first couple levels I was completely let down by the game but it has really picked up..I'm currently on the 11th level I think. As soon as I get my router on tuesday and get everything hooked up I'll look for you.

I agree..Halo 2 is not as good as Halo one though. Just isn't the same and waited too long for the second one to come out and it was not what i thought it would be :-\

my PC is the best game platform out now.

ive played halo a lot and its gay. the xbox controller is gay, gimme a keyboard and mouse anyday.

Ooooorrrrr...PC=XBOX. You do realize that they are made from thesame company right? Bill gates is making big money from The computer world and gaming world. Anything your PC games have and can do Xbox can do just the same if not better. Your computer main designed isn't just for games XBOx is. Saying PC is better than Xbox is Like saying Acura is better than Honda. And as far as GTA the game you want to play for PS2 Xbox is just going to get that game next year after sony makes its money off it. Sony has a bigger game library, you dont have to pay extra to play online, and you can play Burn cd and Dvd off the bat from the system. Thats the only thing it gots on Xbox :-\

Xbox live or Connect. You can play online with other people just like you would on your PC

yea, I keep telling my friend that I'm gonna get a modded x-box and he keeps telling me that x-box sucks compared to computer. well for people that dont have $1000 to spend on a nice gaming computer, an x-box is very practical and does a lot considering how much it costs.

i dont know. i played it, and i wasnt tooo impressed by it. all i think it is is a better version of halo with new levels. thats about all it is. the online multiplayer is like anything else, but the system is fucked up and confusing.

thats the funniest thing ive read today. Since when does microsoft make computer hadware besides mice and keyboards?Saying PC's are made by microsoft is kinda dumb... microsoft make software. And no an XP DOES NOT have the graphics capabilities that a PC has, you cannot get the resolution you can get from your PC on a TV not even with HDTV.

Thats not what i ment but i'll be more specific. You cant really say PC is better than Xbox. Here are the specs of Xbox...

There is not a single game on PC that uses per-pixel lighting the way that Halo does. Everything is bumped mapped and volumetric lighting everywhere. I have not seen anything even close to it on the PC. The reason the quality of the XBOX appears lower is because I'm viewing it on a television rather than a high-resolution monitor. I could really see the superior graphics on XBOX playing amped -- the snow effects and lighting are very good. Again, the TV is what biased my perception. the TV as an output device is really a kick in the pants for the current generation of consoles. Hopefully things will look up when HDTV becomes more prevalent. I feel that when I play games on my PC, an "acceptable" resolution is 1152x864 or higher, and a TV can't touch that.

Really, the seem equal to my eyes and seem just as powerful. But There are some disadvantages with pc

One is the cost. PC games are more expsensive.Perhaps worse, we seem to be at a point where manufacturers would rather make them more powerful than cheaper, whether we need the speed or not. eventually every PC gamer will encounter some technical complication, be it a device driver that needs updating or components that are simply incompatible. installing a game on your computer is always a bit of a gamble. You never really know if it's going to work until you're actually playing the game, and even then, in the back of your mind, you're expecting it to crash at any moment.

Im not looking to start a Xbox or PC war...just putting my .02 on the matter thats all. ;)

just look @ it this way, the Xbox is an outdated PC, there is much better hardare out nowadays. Just because a PC game has not used per pixel lighting like halo has does not mean a PC is not capabale of it, in fact it is more capable.

I love my moded xbox, 200 gig drive, XBMC to play all my movies I download.
Plays on the big screen instead of my monitor, runs Pytohon scrips for streaming audio and video.
I even have a browser so if someone is on my PC I can still surf HMT.

are you kidding me? doom3, hl2, and far cay all use this and more. doom3's engine was built around per pixel lighting. halo uses bumpmapping... sure, but allot of pc games use the same exact ----. when it comes to lighting and ----, doom3 tops them all. but its not that good of a game.

yeah i know, i suck at it. but no, i mean doom3 does that and more. thats what carmack was focusing on the whole time. the lighting in that game is perfect. period. its got really advanced sell shading. o, and dont tell my friend about high deff cus hes a fuckterd and says that the only computer screen that is high deff is a mac, and even then, i get better picture.

i too have a modded xbox, you can do about anything with them... upgrade ram, hd, use usb devices (mouse and keyboard), you can do s-video conversions easily, use windows/linux, surf the net, irc, they are pretty nifty machines

btw if anyone wants a 2 month xbox live card let me know, i was trying to sell it on xbox-scene for 4 bucks, ill send the code, mods please let this in, xbox people will probably be about the only ones interested in this, no use clouding the fs forum

There are way too many falacies in this thread.

The PC is greater in power than the Xbox, but Xbox utilizes itself much better through games.

A gaming PC does not cost thousands, any moron can build a computer. if you think you can't, then you are a bigger moron.

I have played halo on a HDTV and it blows away anything else I have ever seen on a computer. I have a serious computer too.

I beat halo 2 in two marathon sessions. It was a great game, but noone buys it for the single player. It is all about playing with friends and bragging rights.
