:'( poor car.

I can't really imagine doing that to my own car unless of course it was going to the junk yard anyways, or I could afford a new motor. But ----, not only does this guy need a new motor now, but he's fucked up his exhaust too. *shrug* Guess he didn't really want the car.

it probably would have kept running if he had the radiator cap onnn.

So, someone enlighten me, since I know oh so little about engines, what kind of damage results from that kind of abuse? What would be the expected status of the engine? Blown? Garbage? Salvagable?

it was a rotary so the kinds of things that get broken are differnt on cylinder engines. I'm not sure what type of ---- happened, video still downloading.

in that case... blown coolant seals from overheating as well as warped housings....... i guess since the motor probably overheated and locked up instead of slinging apart..there probably wouldnt be much damage in the way of things physically breaking... but for sure.. the coolant seals are gone.. and the housings are warped.. so.. its a boat anchor

OMG, I think I'm sold on the rotary!! That thing took a beating like no other. I think they should have done that while driving it. Doing burnouts and ----. They sounded like a bunch off hillbillies.

rotary engines take high rpms well... but they dont seem to be very friendly w/ detonation and carbon buildup. i've seen my friends go through atleast 7-8 rotard motors in the past 2 years.. its rediculous... they keep popping...

yeah i heard something similar from this rx7 owner. he was telling me that with a triple rotary motor from japan(forgot the engine code, sorry), your ---- will rev to 14k no problem. i was like wtf... thought he was full of ----. but then i heard that from another rx7 owner, and figured its probably true. those motors are crazy, plus they are only 1.2 liters i think.

no rotary will rev that high without a new eccentric shaft, race bearings, and hardend stationary gears. Not to mention the oil mods you need. Basically they were full of ----. :) they will rev to about 9k most. The 20b was built for boost, it was also built for smooth power. Its redline is no where NEAR 14k, more about 8k. Even the old NA 13b's only revved to 9k. Anything more than that and you hard to upgrade internals. Thats a big misconcpetion about rotaries, everyone thinks they can rev super high with no mods. But with a 13b, you can easily get 500hp out of them, with a 20b ... well thats all whole nother .7 litre. Thats almost 40% more power. So you do the math ;)
