gti 1.8t or civic hatch?help me out here!!

I cant ------- decide wether to get.A Civic hatch 96-2000 or a 2000 VW gti 1.8t.Im dying for another projet!
On one hand I want comfort and comodity. But on the other hand I love the Civic hatch(EK).What the ---- should I get? Here is what Im looking at(examples)...

I know this is an R32(way out of price raneg) but Im falling in love with the gti 1.8t.
Plus side:Interior is plush as hell.Allready turbo charged and wouldnt have to put too much effort into it.A stock used one is around $13-$14k
Down side:its german so replacemnt parts and go fast goodies are stupedly expensive.

On the other hand................

(Sorry Jeff ;))How could you not love this model Civic?!
Plus side:cost effective cheap parts.I still have 1/2 my old turbo kit.I can pick up a 99-2000 for $5-$6 grand
Down side:Head swap(to get rid of the gay cx head/mani combo),no power anything, will take about $4k to get it dome up rite, hot target for theft. With my track record I dont need that :-X

I know were mostly honda biased but give my your honest input.

do the gti. my brothers got one and i love the car. hes got simple upgrades to it too and it lays down 230 ish at the wheels. all its got is an intake, exhasut, chip and the tranny has been changed to a european version. and its really nice altogether. the charge piping is all silicone also. i would do the gti, like you said stock turbo and you will have all the goodies. and not talking down on honda drivers (me and my gf have one :P) but it just seems like a more respectabe car if ya know what i mean.

its a diffrent feel, volkswagens feel like your driving a solid brick. They dont have that small hatch gokart feel that hondas do. They look nice, its just a diffrent feel. go drive one and see what im talking about. Its allot more solid and burley

true dat. the handling is totally different too, they actually handle pretty good off the floor not to mention after suspension work is done.

Well the reason I started to get into the gti is becouse I'm spoiled from when I get to drive the wifes A3.There is a big difference between VW and Audi(yes,I know they are the same auto group).
