Hrm.

I have a decent vid card, and juarez version of GTA/SA on a hard drive, but the only spare comp is a 1 Ghz Celeron. I'm tempted to try and overclock it a wee smidge. Think it'll cope, or do I need to drop the skrill on that P4 mobo/RAM?

Azureus.
http://azureus.sourceforge.net/download.php

If you are using a router you will have to open up(forward) your port to make it work fast, check this link to do so.

Google Azureus' page on sourceforge.net

I'd give it a shot, couldn't hurt! Turn down the textures and anti-aliasing and such so people look like blocks and you may be in business :)

Can't get my router to open that port. I dont want a static IP like it recommends. Any other options?

You don't get to choose if you have a static IP or not, your provider does. What router are you using?

It seems to be working anyway?

HMTguy 05-10-2006 10:08 PM

Re: GTA San Andreas Multiplayer

It will, it will download just fine anyway. The only difference is that you can only have outgoing connections to other users, they can't connect to you (you can still download). If you figure it out and get the green smiley, it will just download faster maybe, that's all. If you're gettin a good speed now just let er rip and figure it out later ;)

It's probably a problem with Java, which it what Azureus is based on. Download your latest Jave Runtime Environment here:
http://www.java.com/en/download/index.jsp

Re: GTA San Andreas Multiplayer

Works fine now, but I downloaded the latest Java as a precaution :)

Too bad that download is only going 11 kB/se :(

Jesus Horatio Christ on a crutch.

Just queue up a bunch of torrents, and walk the ---- away. You may have 11k/s *right now* *on this one torrent* but I guarantee you'll have 100 gigs wirth of juarex within 3 weeks if you do things my way.

Azureus worked for a good 10 hours and now won't work for me again lol, even after the Java update. It just downright refuses to work. I might just go out and get the game like Dave did.

Re: GTA San Andreas Multiplayer

Just waiting for one person to actually be able to play this with me :-*

You don't have to be smart to play CC, but it works right away.

You have to be slightly clever to get all the GTA ---- workin if you've never used torrents, but you won't walk around like a T-rex handed retard playin CC.
