Heh get caught? What do they have their sattelites poiting at you locating you? Wardriving itself is legal as long as you dont use other peoples internet connections (The host is broadcasting a signal you cant help if you catch it). Using a connection on the other hand is maybe illegal but most people who buy and set up their wireless networks straight out of the box wouldn't notice their connections are being used.

being a wireless admin for a local company there is alot more you can tell lol, i can take a mac, i can judge where your at at the time orthe connection and how far fromteh access point you are. you think your invisable? your not.

Hmm.. let's think about this one. He isn't going to be scamming a connection off of a major network, they all have WEP. Driving around hoping off signals from morons who have no idea how to setup their router deserve the lack of bandwith. I seriously doubt that some sort of wireless spider is going to try and lure him into the web. I went all over NYC accessing HMT on my free connections. ------- morons.

i just moved 10 dell D600s i was thinking of posting up here but decided not to.... bastards 1.7 processor, 1 gig of ram, 75 gig hard drive, mobility 32 video ----....some nice ---- the only thing i didn't understand was that it was running on windows 2000 and they were all brand new ???

but yea laptops are cool :P

WEP is easy to crack, MAC authentication is the best it gets. then if you have a routed network you need to figure out an IP.

Yeah, I know. Before I updated the firmware on the router, I was using MAC authentication, but why bother now, I highly doubt someone is going to break my 128 bit code. All I was stating was if you did get onto someone's network that's completely WEPless then I really doubt they are going to gather the evidence to prosicute you. Not like I'm trying to break into an admin's network.. I remember at HP in the office I worked at, they only had 64bit WEP gaurding their network and APs all over the place. It was a joke.

I knew about the 64 code breaking.. but damn 128.. looks like it's time to revamp security.. I'm going to have to specially gaurd the computers at the law firm I'm starting work at soon.

Who needs internet bandwith on your 802.11G when you can just use all the processing power towards WEP

I agree, it's a whole lot faster too. But in many cases, wireless is desirable. I will just hope that I'm not within broadcasting distance of any of these future age digital pirates.

well i got the laptop today guy sent the wrong one this has the same specs but its in perfect condtion even though it is a different model number, 390 instead of 600 thinkpad. god i love ebay. funny thing is i was pissed when i got it and i was like this isnt the right laptop then i was like ---- this is even better ;D

who knows, hes a tard, but i win, mine is the exact same one listed just mine is 266mhz P2 and a 4Gb harddrive and has a power adapter. these older ibm's seem to go for reasonable prices around $200-300 on ebay. before i forget. god i love ebay.

I'm only using it to datalog with a Zeitronix so as long as that works I'm cool. Plus, I don't go around ------- with reformatting operating systems and ----. I have a clue how to do it, but last time I tried to do it I fucked my ---- up and ended up paying my computer guy to fix it.
