Got a question for you bodybuilding/nutrition guys...
i know there's a lot of you guys on here, so I figured i'd ask. I'm in the process of trying to build some muscle/mass. I'm at 160 pounds, and my goal is 180-185. I'm taking in 160-165 grams of protein a day, and due to my class and work schedules, it's hard to take in 4-6 meals a day, but i try to have something every 3 hours or less. I guess my question is, how can I up my calorie intake without taking on too much fat and cholestoral. I know i should be at about 3200 or so calories, but I just don't know how to get that much with the small meals I have, and the fact I don't always have the time to sit down and make a nice big meal. any suggestions as to how I can up this?

well as far as diet the right kind of fats aren't bad. How to get a lot of calories, isnt'really a ahrd question its just eat more. the easiest way to eat "high calorie dense food" is in liquid form. Tyr and use a wieght gainer, tey sell them that have between 500 to 2000 calories per serving. just eat eat eat. I try to cook 5 or 6 chicken breasts at a time so I can eat them in the next couple of days, just nuke them and add some barbaque sauce. The most important time to get protein are when you wake up, after workout, and before bed, you also need a lot of good fats befroe bed. I take a couple fish oil and flax oil tabs and eat some almonds, this is along with some meat, cottage cheese or a casein protein shake.

^^cool, that was kind of what i was looking for. i usually have a protein shake, vitamin and whole bagel with peanut butter as soon as i get up, a footlong roasted chicken breast sub and protein shake for lunch, can of tuna before i work out, protein bar when i get back, and then a dinner usually of a couple of chicken breasts and a protein shake. mixed in there is usually a few snacks, usually cans of tuna with glasses of milk, small chicken breast, that kind of thing, but i'll check into some of the weight gainer stuff. thanks.
and i've looked up a little on bodybuilding.com before this (where i got my work out routine) pretty damn good site!

protein is important before bed..what you need to do is slow down or stop your body from going into a catabolic state..which means you would burn muscle while you sleep..always stay loaded with foor..and keep your sugar up..peanut butter and tuna fish..thats all i gotta say

Just eat A LOT and train hard!! I've been lifting for like 6 months ( since HS) and I've gained 40lbs. I have a gut though :-) I really don't give ----, never do abs. I'm not eating crap; cottage chesse, whey, PB, chicken, omlets, wendys (double stack and chilli), etc.
I just reread this thread, you actually eating a lot more protien at one time then your body can handle (use to turn into muscle). I think it's like 40-50 at a time. Maybe 50-60 after a really hard workout, but that's even a lot.

if you really want solid muscle you have to get into a rutine. you need to work out in a regular basis, eat properly, take suppliments, and give your body the rest to recover. when i was 19 i weighed about 160 pounds. now im 29 and weigh between 195 and 215. if you look at real atheletes that dont do juice youll notice that they get bigger over the years, and im not talking about fat. when you lift go for isolation and technique rather than just throwing the weight up.
and btw juice gives you bitch ****, cancer. and drink lotts of water when working out.
