THe AR-15 is a .223 caliber, so is a mini 14. The .22 caliber has been around since the inception of prepared rounds (right around 1845 in France). You think that a gun that's been around since 1949 really has had more confirmed kills.

OK.
i bet thousands and thousands of people are killed everyday by an ak47.

and the context of your post i thought you meant ONE round, not a range of rounds of a certain caliber.

mini14s are .223s? damn i better go check mine to make sure what you're saying is true

To answer your question, yes. Are we talking about .22 or .223? You lost me on that one. I don't see very many wars being fought with .22 caliber weapons, but I don't know ----. :1

.22's tend to bounce around and do more damage internally than say a 9mm or a .40. That's why they say they have killed more people. .22 is ---- for home protection because it won't stop the intruder like a 9mm/.40/.45/etc/etc will, but will most likey kill the intruder later on due to internal injuries from the little bastard .22 bouncing around.

the US has fought with a 22 caliber weapon since vietnam.

and lots of countries have started to use 22 caliber rounds in their rifles.

but 22LR has not killed as many people as an ak47

Eh? Are you speaking in a range of calibers, too? .22 or .223? What weapons did they use that fired a .22 round?

Yes, but a completely different bullet. You can't compare a ".22" to a ".223".

Word. The grain is the difference, the round size is almost identical.
