That's worse than him buying a supra. ALL of the NA i6s are stuck to the same 450-550bhp without a tranny swap, same as all the v6's.

SC/GS 300 serve no purpose in life. They are typically only $1000-$1500 more than their 4.0L v8 powered brethren for the older used ones which:
Get IDENTICAL mpg
Have 33% more displacement
Has about 50% more powerband under the horsepower peak (the i6's are pitiful)
Rev farther
Rev MUCH faster
Will hold more horsepower without a rebuild (still limited by the transmissions)
Have ungodly better interiors
Have more pimp goodies
Have stronger suspension, and mounts
Have a better sub-frame, connectors, and stiffening plates

Better to buy an LS400, GS400 or SC400 than the 300's. The price for the upgrades is chump change.

do those have the 1uz-fe engine?
i heard that in japan you could get the supras with the 1uz-fe twin turbo (because thats what they used when they raced jgtc, and had like 450hp na with an 11k rev limit)

Update:

Installed the electronic dual stage boost controller, and boost guage. tore the dash pad out because it was cracked. new one should be in tomorrow. seats are out, getting new ones. put all new brakes all the way around. Boost controller is set at 14psi.. I keep it on stock mode though (10psi), until i wanna let loose. Gotta watch it though because i'm rocking oem headstuds.

I was happy with my location of the controller. Right next to the ECT button.. so I can push that bitch, flip my switch and rocket off into the horizon........................... Then blow my headgasket

You'll hit boost cut at 11-12psi unless you have something to bump it up or eliminate it all together. I found that out the hard way before I really read up on mine.
