figure i'll update this
i got the pulley off so i could check the timing gears. the cam was off 2 teeth. so i go to fix it and i notice a bunch of broken ----. bent push rods, stuck lifters, fucked cam lobes. so i said ---- this L6 motor.
i'm getting ready to pull out the motor, probably do it next week. some guy just gave me the oil pan i need to put the sbc in the car. it won't work with power steering so i still need to swap out for manual steering, but that's cool.

You're going to have some manly forearms even with a manual rack.

manual racks are far from hard to steer, you pussies. drive a 3ton dump with a full load and manual seesaw saginaw rack and you'll appreciate a light truck/car manual steering effort

i think i've only had one power steering car in my life. that was a 98 civic.
why would i need power steering on this one. i've driven it with power steering and it seemed too easy to turn.
my wife's 64 fairlane is a lot bigger than my nova and it doesn't have power steering. she drives it daily.

i have a saying "if you can't park it, don't buy it"
i've never had a car i couldn't park. also like i said, my wife daily drives her fairlane and it doesn't have power steering.
