I hate dodge dakotas. The clutch on those do not engage until the pedal is almost all the way out. Stupid Dodge!

Yea, that's what I thought also. The last Civic I had needed a speedo cable, turns out it was a stripped gear in the trans. I wound up putting two junkyard transmissions in before I got a good one, just to fix the speedo.
here's a good FYI, you can buy "just" the speedo gears at majestichonda http://hondaautomotiveparts.com and they even have pictures for reference.

that or go to a junkyard and get "just" the speedo gears for FREE since it fits in most pockets.

My friend bought an 89 prelude with over 350,000 miles on it and the thing just won't die. He hits the rev limiter everytime he drives it and the clutch is completely gone. It requires a quart of oil everytime you drive it, but it still runs lol. He only pai $50 for his though. :P
