even with the weak dollar, the average US PPP is 48k, in europe the average is 28k. thats about HALF!!!

ppp = purchasing power parity, means adjusted for currency. its your buying power... with our weak dollar its still DOUBLE europe.

OWNAGE. ---- socialist losers

you are way off base.

about 65% of the federal budget is spent on welfare right now, in many different forms. thats about 3x more then is spend on "defense"

What is your source for the pie chart, just curious. Personally I am middle of the road on this issue.
Do you consider Vetrans benefits and education to be a part of the 65% of welfare? Some social programs can be up for debate, but a 100% free market system is not any better than a socialist state. There is usually a fine line between free market and some socialism. Every civilized society has some form of socialism, just varying degrees. Our DEFENSE department is socialized to some degree, protection for all US citizens, paid for by (nearly) all US citizens, not just the select few (though some would argue this lol.)

Don't get me wrong, I care not for the "welfare queens" of society. I have never and hope to never "need" welfare from the gov't but would rather pay a portion of my taxes to healthcare or some other value added service than Dubyas war on terror which is a fucken joke IMO.

Back on topic---Our country has enjoyed cheap oil (by comparison to other states) for a long time...Suck it up folks, our way of life WILL change to some degree.

Most power plant turbines run on steam, which is generated by burning fuel and boiling water.

DuuurRrruurrrrrr Durrrrrrr Dey dig a big ------- hole in the ground and harness da heAt from da uppEr MaNtle.

I don't know what the photo of the solar panels was trying to accomplish, unless they made it self sustaining with solar power supplementing operation energy. Even though it would be able to sustain itself after it starts.
