I didn't twist anything, that was a direct quote of what you said.

This statement alone proves your ignorance to the entire subject.

only one of those articals was old, the other two are from 2007

even with the weak dollar, the average US PPP is 48k, in europe the average is 28k. thats about HALF!!!

ppp = purchasing power parity, means adjusted for currency. its your buying power... with our weak dollar its still DOUBLE europe.

OWNAGE. ---- socialist losers

you are way off base.

about 65% of the federal budget is spent on welfare right now, in many different forms. thats about 3x more then is spend on "defense"

PPP is a ------- joke, its about as reliable and accurate as a weatherman. too many variables to make it a decent judge of value. anyone with a decent education would laugh histerically if you brought that up in a serious conversation.

tell me the last time a news reporter or financial analyst used PPP when coversing about our economy VS europes???

I hope it goes to 5 or 6 a gallon. Im sick of hearing people at work complain about diesel costing so much when they're driving big full size turbo diesels daily. Obviously they cant afford it so maybe they'll sell em and, as Arnold would say, QUIT WHINING :8

how insightfull. you have nothing quality to say so your down syndrome side comes out.

PPP is a theory that estimates the amount of adjustment needed on the exchange rate between countries in order for the exchange to be equivalent to each currency's purchasing power.
.

theory = unproven estimate = not accurate

The PPP exchange-rate calculation is controversial because of the difficulties of finding comparable baskets of goods to compare purchasing power across countries.

Estimation of purchasing power parity is complicated by the fact that countries do not simply differ in a uniform price level; rather, the difference in food prices may be greater than the difference in housing prices, while also less than the difference in entertainment prices. People in different countries typically consume different baskets of goods. It is necessary to compare the cost of baskets of goods and services using a price index. This is a difficult task because purchasing patterns and even the goods available to purchase differ across countries. Thus, it is necessary to make adjustments for differences in the quality of goods and services. Additional statistical difficulties arise with multilateral comparisons when (as is usually the case) more than two countries are to be compared

A PPP exchange rate varies depending on the choice of goods used for the index (CPI). Hence, it is possible to deliberately or accidentally bias a PPP exchange rate by the choice of a bundle. Indeed, it may be hard to construct equivalent representative bundles for the consumption habits of very different societies. PPP could also have difficulty accounting for differences in quality between goods in one country and equivalent goods in another
