does anyone know if its common for the bumper brackets on the rear to rust out?

tommorow im gonna tear into it and see how bad the body really is, the rear bumper seems to be afloat so i need to figure out why, if the unibody is rusted out then ill probably just be parting it out

if it isnt bad ill fix the body then just run it for a while, eventually i would either do a swap or go turbo on it, not really sure just need to determine if it is worth fixing

the rear bumper is an issue, im taking the car to my buddies body shop next week for assesment

how much would you guys say is too much to have in one of theese?

its a 91 Si and it runs GREAT

as you can see aside from the seats the interior is very good for a 1991

ive wanted a CRX as long as i can remember but i dont want to get totally boned

have the same car yes the bumper rusts like a bitch. also the gas cap area and wheel wells rust like a bitch. good luck whats the motor look like?

motor looks decent

has receipts for the timing belt not too long ago and the head was milled

it runs really good


any links to bumper repairs??

Nope, but I can tell you that about 90% of older hondas I see have rust there. What's the deal with that ---- anyways?

Its the weather stripping in the rear wheel wells, Only thing I know of to fix it is to cut out all the old rust and weld in new metal or build a panel out of fiber glass.

Hope you can get the CRX a beautiful car agian ;D i almost bought a 85 crx but the engine in it wasnt that great and the guy wanted $900 for it so i passed it up

Good god why an 85? Yeah it's the 1st gen and super light but those things are nasty looking. That crx looks like everything around here. It's impossible to find a crx in WI without rust.
