Got another crx 1st gen
 

Picked up a 87 crx hf last night. Car runs/straight body 300 bucks. I know Ill post pics once I wash it and put my old rotas on it. Plans are to do a dohc zc w/ my weber carbs I have layin around should be a fun little project

Black but plans are to paint it a dark forest green. Why not 1st gen crx's are different and I built one years ago with an ls motor/ w weber carbs and it was a very fun low 13 sec all motor car. Power/weight ratio is your friend. Im gonna order my zc next week and get the rest of the 1st gen teg parts for the swap.

Yup my buddies old 86 hf did with just stripped panels,heat core removed with the ls motor and him in the car was 1750 lbs not bad so the car was around 1600 with full glass/metal. Car dynoed at 145 whp and ran 13.20's at 99 mph at LACR 3000 ft so Im hopng to get close to that with this car budget build of course.

I think the staff is doing all right with the boosted requirment. Beau, Johnny, Whitey (always in some sort of boosted ride), Kevin, Jason, PmP (Chris) and Pat are all boosted if I remember right.

Yeah, 1st gens arent the best looking, but its hard to argue w/ 1700lbs or torsion bars and Pan-hard rods ahahah

I wouldnt say runs good driveable though, the motor will be out in a couple weeks not really into sportin a 60 hp motor.

I have an 87 hf as well. Picked mine up for $600 with a blown d16a1 in it. It has all been converted to si and i dropped in my driveline from my other rusted out crx.

First gen CRX's are the ----. I got a chance to drive an 87 Si one time, it was tits. I almost bought it but I held out and got my 91 HF instead.

Post some pics of that beast up. I'd like to get a 1g just for a daily driver, they're badass.

a few days ago, i was driving my buddies SC Cougar, and i seen a blue flash in my rear view mirror, and then i heard a loud pSHHHHHHHHHH, well, me being smart, it came to my attention that a 1g CRX wanted to play, but he was boosted, so we pulled over and talked for a bit. He's running 6 psi on the d14 or w.e engine is in the 1g. but god dam, that thing rips so dam hard, for how light it is, he can rip up lots of cars unexpectadly.

sweeet, yeah i love the 1g. I got a 1g hf with a 89 d16a1 blacktop. the stock motor was shot so i swapped in full 89 teg harness and did away with all the non-essential heater/ac/interoir bits and peices. I'm plannin boost soon.


Oh yeah the stock motor is the ew series, and in 86 they changed the name to d15 its a sohc 1.5l 12v motor in the si, and a carbed soch 12v cvcc motor in the dx and 8v cvcc in the hf.

the si weighs in at 1980lbs dx is mid 1800s and the hf is 1713 factory.

Last night I weighed my 87 crx hf with a 87 teg driveline with a HMT kit.
It weighed in at 1940 lbs.

My 86 si weighed in at 2040 with the same setup.

FYI...i have 87 prelude seats which are a whole lot heavier than the hf seats. I also have 91 crx si wheels on there because the really light hf wheels are too small.
