Got in an accident yesterday
With the beater CRX. Rear ended a crown vic. He had scratches on the bumper...
I shattered a headlight, scratched bumper, annihilated hood, cracked rad, bent rad support and headlight support WAAAAY Back.
So I un-bent hood, used a tow chain and my buddies civic to pull my frame and rad support back out, found replacement headlight, and have the radiator sitting on my kitchen table with the JB Weld drying. I kid you not!
Should be all back together by tommorow morning. :1
Anyone have experience with JB Welding a rad? Its just the plastic end tank on the top.

Re: Got in an accident yesterday
I jb-welded a radiator once. It had cracks in it for a reason though. Sold the car to a guy and the next day he drove it. The pressure had no where to go in the clogged radiator and the whole thing blew up (I guess the cap was bad?). The car overheated and warped the head. He was pissed but I told him there was nothing I could do about it, it was only a $600 car.

Re: Got in an accident yesterday
It 100% wont hold up to the heat cycles
I tried it on my rad for a small leak, it just kept cracking and the water would seep through
Theres ---- at Canadian tire, its a putty type ----, comes attached to a piece of cardboard and its called like GAS TANK AND RAD REPAIR or something, I think it was $5, you just take it out of the plastic, squish it all together (mixes both compounds) and its ROCK hard in like an hour.
Ive had it on my car trouble free all summer
Get that, you dont need a new rad

Re: Got in an accident yesterday
True story, my mom drove a car with a JB welded radiator for at least a year. She even JB welded it herself.
