Last minute haggling with the night auditor FTW. If they've vacancies and the rooms are obviously going to go unsold for the night you can get them for 25% of asking price.

If your broke the old part of the strip circus circus area is the cheapest route. The orleans is also cheap about3 miles east of the strip on Tropicana. My old apartment was across the street from the orleans

I've been browsing Travelocity and there are some pretty good deals... Harrah's and Paris are both like 80/night or so... damn good deal it seems.

when are you going? Thats the mid-week rate i assume. Ive seen some crazy last-minute deals, but I can never go on a whim really. I could get a free room on New Years but I cant go then either...

I'm not going until April, so I have time to plan and hopefully get some early booking discount of some kind... not really sure what the best angle is.

Maybe I'll just gamble, hope the economy gets shittier and book it closer to April. I'm not sure I can go with JD's advice and show up in Vegas without a reservation, lol. I'm a planner... it would stress me out.

No, I'm talking about putting your bags into the rental car and hitting the bar every night. When you are ready to flop walk in cold at midnight-3am and just start jewing like your name is ghettoturbo.
